Tasty as they look on the box, I'm not sure how best to prepare them. I mean, do they taste great on their own, or do they need some mushroom gravy? Do they taste better in the skillet, oven, or microwave?
I guess I'll know sooner or later, but I'd love to know before I try.
ohh, im curious as well!
i love quorn!!! its a bit of an acquired texture to begin with, it took me a while to get used to but now i eat it plain :) DO NOT USE THE MICROWAVE!!! lol, it gets all wet and nasty. i shallow fry all my quorn in a few spritz of frylight and its delicious coz it gets all crispy on the outside. you could also try cutting the cutlets up and putting them in a tomato based sauce with some rice etc. thats what i do!
do share when you've tried them!
ive been curious about quorn for a while. havent tried them yet because they seem kind of sketchy appetizing-wise.
has anyone tried the quorn nuggets before?
haha...the 'other white mold'. anyway i use quorn when im lazy or in a rush. are you a lacto-ovo veg? you can beat an egg, brush a thin layer on them & sprinkle some bread crumbs or other crumb like substances, with some herbs (i like dill), season them with some salt/pepper & bake 'em.
I'm a former vegetarian who doesn't eat much meat. My husband is a carnivore, and he will happily eat Quorn.
He is the chef in our house, and he makes Indian and Thai curries with quorn instead of chicken to keep me happy. It's pretty good!
i used to LOVE quorn naked cutlets. they taste great plain but i would recommend using chicken-type seasonings if you're going to eat it alone. but i used to like chopping up a cutlet into shreds and mixing it with bbq sauce and putting it on a bun. they're not vegan though :(
Is Quorn a British thing, or have I just not been paying attention at my American supermarket?
Oh, and I can't help but do this, Tigzy:
"i shallow fry all my quorn in a few spritz of frylight and its delicious quoz it gets all qurispy on the outside. you quould also try qutting the qutlets up and putting them in a tomato based sauce with some rice etc. thats what i do!"

lmao :P
in response to your question i'm from dallas and i've seen quorn products at sprouts, but not all are available here i think.
They have these at my local daves/giant eagle markets. I've had the nuggets and they taste good, but they're a little too high carb for me. The naked cutlets, however, are like a dream come true! They do fine in the microwave for me, a great texture, and I'm more than happy with the taste without any sauces!
Qorn is available in the US, but not all stores carry it. I've seen it at Harris Teeter, which I believe is a southern chain.

hahahaha!!!! love it! theres an advert out at the moment with him doing the voiceover, i think its knorr stir in stuff! check it out!
quorn is everywhere over here but you kinda have to look for it in some supermarkets. you cant miss it though, its bright orange! (apparently the frozen stuff works out cheaper too)
I used to eat quorn stuff quite a bit when I first went vegetarian. I mostly stuck with the plain chick'n cutlets and I would bake them in my toaster oven for about 20 minutes (flipping half-way through). They tasted alright but I always thought they were really salty! They helped get me through the transition but I don't think I could go back to them now...
Most of the time I eat the cutlets in a tomato based stew with lots of veggies. They go well in caseroles too, or they go brilliantly in rissotto.
My meat eating family will hapily eat quorn, but they contain egg and are therefore not vegan.
Treat it like tofu really, just add it to your favourite reciepes.
In the UK you can get slices of 'luncheon' meat quorn but I don't like them much.
The taste is very salty, but they have a good texture.
ENJOY!

(Dang it!! I entered the following post totally over-looking the last sentence of your post. I was too quick on the draw, and cannot delete my message. Duh..)
Hi ew... I hate to be the bearer of bad news again... You know, after the whole Fiber One thing. But, Quorn uses egg as it's binder. I'm sorry. I'm slowly knocking out your favorite foods one by one.
