Quorn Naked Cutlets - Sandwich?
So I don't eat chicken but I have these Quorn Naked cutlets.
I used them a lot and really, really like and recommend them.
Anyway, I was thinking about using them for a sandwich. Any good ideas?
Maybe a pulled BBQ-type thing?
I dunno. I have some good, thick and hearty protein-fortified bread, some regular ol' white (blech) and some good sourdough sandwich/panini bread.
Any suggestions are very much appreciated. :D
I use the quorn cutlets on sandwiches all the time. You can slice them really thin and use them like cold cuts, or you can leave them whole. I like them with mustard and veggies on wheat bread. Sometimes I make a sandwich with a cutlet, some fresh mozzarella, and warm marinara. It's kind of like a chic version of a meatball sub.
That sounds pretty good! :D
Any more lunch-box-y ideas?
i slice up a quorn fillet (which I am guessing is the same thing as a naked cutlet - not breaded or anything - just quorn) and pan fry it in some 1 cal spray and a dusting of spice mix (i use a red tandoori type mix but you could use fajita seasoning or just plain paprika or something similar). this makes it a little bit spicy and gives it colour - i fry until the edges brown - only takes a couple of mins if the quorn is defrosted. then onto wholewheat bread with bit of salad and low fat mayo - or put together a green salad some tomatoes and scatter the quorn pieces on top. very nice.
I put them on my salad! sooooo good, I love quorn...
I'll make chicken fajitas or burritos with them. Those are also yummy.
Try it with some cranberry relish. Delish!
Aww all these ideas sound so good, but unfortunately I have to stay away from soy products for a while because I'm having an allergic reaction. I really hope it's not the soy... I'd be stuck getting my protein from deli turkey slices, chicken breasts, and fish fillets (I hate red meat).
I like to make a chicken salad sandwich with mine using f/f miracle whip and mustard! Also light BBQ sauce and swiss on light wheat bread is good! Those things are the best!
OMG the Quorn patties are delicious, they taste great with honey mustard too on whole wheat toast or wrap with some lettuce, tomato and shredded cheese. I also use them to make a chik parmagiana (sp?)
The Quorn tenders are great for making chik cheesesteaks too!
I wish they would come out with more Quorn products

I am pretty sure quorn is soy free

Yep, no soy in Quorn! It's mycoprotein, from a type of fungus
yup another awesome thing about Quorn products, no soy just mycoprotein, which I think is mushroom protein?
There is also Seitan strips (by I think oceanwave?) they are soy free too right? maybe?
