Do you

A: Wear a Pad

B: Wear a Tampon

(in this case which one is more reliable. Lmao.)

or C. Sit on your a** that week.

Heh..sorry men...just had to ask. Sometimes being a chick sucks. :(

The only good thing about the depo shot is no periods.. but when I did have them, I was too miserable to do ANYTHING.

Wear a tampon and a thin panty liner or some junky underwear (read: Alex's) incase the sweat gets out of control.  Have you ever taken a shower with a tampon in, put on white underwear, and notice a slight pink hue in them later?  Same thing happens when you sweat a lot.  The moisture collection in the tampon makes it easy for the blood to soak through everything and spread to your undies.  It's such a rarity, but I think in the years I've been working out and menstruating, it's happened to me twice.  But, then again, I'm not one of those girls who's afraid to sweat.

I only recall one instance where I was working out while wearing a pad, and it's because I started my period on the way to the gym with my mom.  She wears pads.  I had nothing on me and took one of hers.  It felt so awkward, having this big, fluffy wad between my legs while I was trying to get my jog on.  And when I went to the machines, forget it.  I half-assed my workout.  Every time I spread my legs on one of them I smelled the pad and my sweat.  It was embarrassing.

I also leaked everywhere.  Do you know how hard it is to get a pad to stick to damp underwear?  Even the slightest bit of sweat down there and it'll never stick again, so it shifts around.  Granted, I never took a stab at it with wings but I definitely prefer tampons, especially when I'm active.

Not trying to be rude but just wondering....... why would anyone wear a pad doing anything?  Especially working out.     Ditto on the tampon and pantyliner.

Personally, I just wear a tampon. I could never fathom wearing a pad for any form of exercise. I even don't like to wear liners, because I go commando when going to the gym... :)

As for brand, I don't think it matters too much. I like the Playtex Sport brand. If you do not want to wear a liner and your flow is heavy, wear a 'super' sized tampon.

Not to be too graphic, but I have a rather light flow so all I need is a tampon. My workouts are at the most two-three hours, and I change my tampon about every four hours I guess so I don't need a pad.

Don't refrain from exercising just because you're on your period! You'll feel grosser and disappointed in yourself (I know from personal experience)

I wear a tampon and a pad/panty liner.  I'm all for the double protection!

I always do both a tampon and a pad as well. Even though I'm on birth control my periods still tend to be pretty heavy, and I don't want any accidents. Especially while working out!

I wear a tampon but tend to stick with upper body exercise on those days--definitely no squats or leg presses or anything like that. Mine is really short anyway, like two days tops.

I guess I'm the only one who wears a pad. *w*

I hate tampons and my pads don't give me any problems, even while running. It's all preference I think. :0

LOL! My thoughts exactly. Pads are gross.

And I guess I'm the only one that sits on her butt that week, lol!!

I don't use tampons if I don't absolutely have to, and there's no way I'll work out with only a pad. There were times that I did go for the tampon + pad (what? I like to be safe) just to work out. But generally, I'd rather sit on my butt than go through that hassle!

That's a totally wrong statement. You're just the only girl who wants to admit it. :)

I have a couple friends where when they get their monthlies, they just lay in bed all day. Doesn't matter if there's class, an awesome concert, or a nuclear bomb warning evacuation, their butt doesn't leave their bed for anything for like 3 days.

Are you kidding?  What the hell are they going to do when they go into labor?  Get completely knocked out like the 40's?

And as for the OP... tampons only.  Especially on Spin day.

I've never wore a tampon before... >_>

Diva cup.

Tampon and pad on the heaviest days, just a tampon on the regular days, and pads for the screwy spotting junk at the end of my period.  I also where plain white "granny panties"...they're easier to bleach and easier to toss if an accident does happen.

I have no problem working out wearing a pad...I'd prefer a little chafing or weirdness than leaks.

Never used one of those either! :0

I find those a bit disgusting... have to wash it out and such.

I also don't like the idea of having something stuck inside of me (tampon, nuvaring etc). On top of that, I don't like the idea of having something stuck inside of me FULL OF BLOOD. :s

I've always used pads. I find winged pads are the best because they USUALLY don't move when sweaty. But I think they're a pain in a butt to get off the underwear sometimes. They stick real good. I never had a problem with leaking everywhere, even when my periods used to make me anemic (go go endo).

Personally, I wouldn't work out on my heavy days. I feel extra gross those days, and feeling the gushiness (sorry TMI!) just puts me off. I don't know if gushiness is related to wearing a pad, tampon users may not feel it. But after day 4-5, I can go back to normal. This is my past experiences, I haven't had a period in 3 years (Depo... off it now, it DESTROYED my libido). Hopefully when it comes back it won't be as heavy and insane like it used to be.

I also don't lay in bed all day and act like the world is ending for a week (or more). I went about my day normally, just no exercise on heavy days. My periods were so painfully cramptastic I'm not sure I'd have wanted to work out those days. There were moments where crawling into a ball seemed to be the ideal thing to do.

I sit on my ass. My ttom tends to suck. My back hurts, cramps, anemia, and on top of that I occasionally puke with very little warning (something about endo and some nerve in the area... idk, but it happens, and it seems more likely to happen when I exercise). Because of the rare occasion of spontaneous puking, I don't eat much, because being full seems to make my stomach feel worse. Which doesn't make me feel up to working out.

So yeah, I do as little as I possibly can.

Oh my god, I used to puke too! I thought it was from the cramp pain! Well at least I know the cause of it now. I used to have dry heaves too. Ugh.

I doubt you'd be able to use one even if you wished to.  They are kinda ouchy sometimes.  Especially when you pop the cup back to take it out and it expands hard against your vaginal wall.  Frown With practice it doesn't happen....as often.  You don't have to wash them out each time you dump them.  Only in the inside gets "dirty."  Quick wipe with tp and fold it back up and stick it in.

Tampons dry me out and I'm not fond of the idea of a hunk of cotton grown with pesticides and fertizliers in my vergine.

Pads are just...eww.  Ew.  You do not feel that gushiness with tampons or cups.
