Enough already! The drought is over. We haven't seen the sun in 11 days. Our back yard is flooded and the dogs are NOT happy about going out! We've had just over 6" in our area. I'm ready for it to stop.
I've been sick with a cold for over a week and still have to work, of course. At least we had a three-day weekend so I could rest but I still feel awful. I have at least 4 kids on my bus out with swine flu. I'm praying I don't get it!
OK, that's enough b....ing. On a brighter note - I got Driver of the Month! We get a really nice certificate we can frame, a half day off of our choosing, a denim shirt with our name embroidered on it and a gift card to Chili's...not bad.
congrats on the driver award!
and didn't you get the memo? something about an ark??...
*now where did i put it, fumbling with glasses...*

oops...now I'm worried! LOL
Just get yourself some of those big ol' mag wheels on that bus of yours and you'll be just fine!
I'm in Dallas too - I hate this weather!!!
I LOVE the rain. Why don't you share some with us parched Southern Californians?
We FINALLY had a little rain last night. We're only allowed to water our lawns/plants three times a week for ten minutes each time. But, I've always loved the rain, drought or not.
OUr drought was pretty severe. We were only allowed to water once a week, and they were going to go to once every other week until we started getting the rains.
It seems like it's either drought or flood here in Central Texas!
hey fellow austinist san antonio :)
we are still under stage 2 drought restrictions here in austin.
- Requires residential and commercial water customers to follow a once-per-week watering schedule. Limits automatic irrigation systems to operation between the hours of midnight and 10 a.m. on designated days. Limits residential vehicle washing to designated days and times and prohibits charity car washes. Automatic fill valves for pools or ponds should be turned off. No outdoor fountains should be used except to provide aeration for aquatic life. No water to be served at restaurants unless requested by the customer. No washing of sidewalks, driveways, parking areas or other paved areas except to alleviate an immediate health or safety hazard.
lake travis is still way down too even with all this rain.
i <3 rain. :)
its flooding down in texas
all of the telephone lines are down
I'm in SA and we were in Stage 2 but the lifted it to Stage 1 when the aquifer went back up. If we can at least maintain this level for 30 days they will lift all the restrictions. I agree, though, the lakes around here are all still really low!
ah yeah sorry adolphs i just noticed that. we do alot of water suppply work for SAWS. thats what ive been working on the last couple of days. trying to find a place for yall to put an injection well so you can pump a brackish supply and inject the concentrate. the edwards can only take so much stress. at least it responds really quicky to the rain. :)
CONGRATS DRIVER OF THE MONTH!

Same! It's so depressing around here. Good grief.
Personally I'd like to have the rain back. It was a rainy, cold summer here -- and then this weekend it decided to dump snow on us.
the california east bay has been blasted with rain and strong winds all day long :( i woke up to leaking ceilings in about 8 different places in my house (its almost a century old and we're in the process of fixing it up) i miss my sunshine...and ceilings.
Can we trade? I adore the rain. Had a bit a few days ago, no longer a trace. Pity.
