Raisin Bran: Are you supposed to eat the raisins?
I might but not as much as that song does. I also think as much as i like black beans, I fiber healthy without ever touching bran. I had a muffin once that was ruined by bran but if you like bran, lucky yous!
Original Post by udokier:They're just sun-dried grapes. People are saying that they're sweetened, but that depends on the brand. Kellogg's are sweetened, but I'm pretty sure Post and Total Raisin Bran are not. Either way, they're delicious. Enjoy!
I'm pretty sure the people were saying that the raisins are sweetened, not the bran flakes. If you look at them, you can see sugar on the raisins.
i need raisin bran right now. total comfort food for me. reminds me of saturday morning cartoons. i used to get up all by myself pour a bowl of raisin bran, wait for it to get soggy and watch the smurfs and snorks. followed up by a healthy dose of she-ra;
ah the good old days....
They are for decoration only.
I lurve the raisins! I hate how they sugar them in most raisin bran tho'. I buy Total raisin bran (I'm so tired, I keep writing raisin BRAIN, lol), because I like how it makes me feel after I eat it. Must be all of those vitamins. It seems to be a bit more calorie dense than the generic bran flakes I used to buy, so it keeps me a fuller for a bit longer.
Yum, raisin bran!!!

Eat them? No way. I line them up on the dining room table and pretend they're little soldiers. I like to pummel them with my spit ball cannon and watch them all fly around. I used to use little green army men but I was trying to get some of them to talk, and my torture methods killed them.
Alex can still eat the marshmallows. Some are a little soggy from the spit bombs but they're still edible.
ROFL!!! Omg you just made my day.

I understand what people are saying. Kellogg's sweetens their raisins - Post and Total don't to my knowledge. At least they didn't when I used to buy them in the US - I have to mail-order it now, so I can only get Kellogg's anymore.

I wasn't aware raisins were such a controversial topic.
Well, until I first read the thread, I wouldn't have thought there was a person in an industrialized nation that had never seen a raisin, or didn't know what to do with them when in a cereal.
But here it is.....

Are you saying that you don't support the raisins? These colors don't run! The good book says that life begins at dessication! Save the grapes from a parched, sweltering death! Judging a dried fruit on its texture is PRODUCE PROFILING! Speak truth to power!
Just Say No to Fruit Roll-Ups!!!
:D
*continues picking raisins out of the cereal box*
It's like they're multiplying in there or something!

Umm....wouldn't it be easier to just let your bf have the raisin bran, and then you just go to the store to get a box of plain evil-free bran flakes?

Yes, what's the point of this? Doublespeak, reducing our rich vocabulary to make us more robotic....
