Chewy oatmeal cookies with optional nuts and raisins
| 3 | tbsp crisco shortening |
| 1 1/4 | cup light brown sugar |
| 1 | egg |
| 1/3 | cup skim milk |
| 1 1/2 | tsp vanilla |
| 3 | cups quick oats |
| 1 | cup whole wheat flour |
| 1/2 | tsp baking soda |
| 1/2 | tsp salt |
| 1/4 | tsp cinnamon |
| 1 | cup raisins |
| 1 | cup walnuts, chopped |
| 1 | stick margarine |
- heat oven to 375 and grease baking sheet.
- combine shortening and margarine, sugar, egg,milk, and vanilla.
- combine oats,flour, baking soda, salt, and cinnamon. Mix into creamed mixture.
- stir in raisins and nuts.
- drop onto baking sheet.
- bake for 10-12 min.
- remove to aluminum foil to completely cool.
