What happens when you eat too many carbs in your diet? I haven't really been tracking lately, due to not trying to obsess over calories, etc., but whenever I feel like I need a snack I grab cereal or toast or pretzels or crackers, and I was wondering if you have too many carbs per day what happens?

How horrible is this?

I mean I know that would mean that other percentages would be low, like protein and fats, but I do eat tons of lean meats and nuts too. I also love veggies and fruits, but it just seems like everything that goes in my mouth is carbs.

hey, i dunno if its good or bad, but i deff eat more carbs and fats than anything else, its just so much easier to grab than anything else i think.  cant really grab a meat, i mean i dont have stuff like that ready to eat like bready stuff, i dunno

I'm not too sure but my nutritonist says that carbs are an important part of recovery, and we can kind of eat a bit more than normal people, haha I know this sounds odd and I know your far along in your recovery (congrats by the way! All your replies and posts are really inspiring, you're doing great!) So I hope this helps a bit! (:

If you get overly worried, try eating carbs that also have high protein or healthy fats content (eg: chickpeas; oats for both counts - protein and fats!; quinoa). Also remember carbohydrates make up the largest part of any person's diet in reality. :] I eat loads of carbs, too, but then I just have to eat loads! Heh.

I don't think it really matters how many carbs you have each day as long as you are also having some protein, fats, and fruit and veg.

Carbohydrates are essential to give us energy, and if you are very energetic then they are the best thing to have! And if you're having wholegrain cereals and breads then its even better :)

This happens to me, too, where I think, "Wow, I have just been eating carbs all day." I think that as long as you're getting meat/dairy also, and your carbs are not from processed snacks and sugar (besides fruit) you're fine. I loved the feeling at the beginning of recovery of eating lots of carbs and having just so much energy!
