mmaky so i live near the coast in Mississippi... if anyone knows there will be a ginormous hurricane hitting in like 24-36 hours... yes we'll lose all power and everything for a while... putting my eatting cycles and food in a HUGE whilrwind... ill have no yoggurt, fresh food, wheat bread( i am DEATHLY afraid of crap white processed prodcuts) and basically our hurricane stashed food is canned meats, spaghettios, canned sausage gravy....lots of boxes of processed junk food.. omg i am so scared to even THINK about eatting these foods... the only thing i found i dont mind are MY nuts(almonds and pistachios)... does anyone have ANY idea of some stuff i may be able to grab up from the grocery store so im not freaking out????

Hopefully some of these will help -

Dried fruits - raisins, cranberries, apples, etc.  Yes kind of high in sugar compared to fresh fruit, but they will keep longer.

Canned fruit in juice/no sugar added applesauce.  You can get individual size serving containers so they don't spoil.

Low sodium canned soups that don't need water added

Whole grain crackers

Powdered milk/soymilk - the kind you can shake to mix with water.  Doesn't taste quite like the real stuff, but will help provide calcium

Granola bars, just not the sugar added kinds

Larabars or other fruit and nut bar

You could buy all sorts of canned beans (black, white, kidney, garbanzo etc) for nice complex carbs and protein.

Some places sell decent meal replacement bars that have alot of calories, protein, and nutrients.

You already mentioned nuts, and that's a great way to get healthy fats in.

I suppose canned tuna or salmoln could be a useful protein source if you eat the entire can after you open it.

Those ideas above are great too, I just thought I'd mention a few things that weren't suggested.

Good luck with everything
