A rant about a friend
I have been friends with this girl for almost 17 years, since I was 10 years old. I really consider her more of a sister than a friend. However, she has been driving me bonkers lately. Here are a few things that drive me nuts
*she has three nieces and one nephew whom all live at the least 3 hours away. With no children of her own. Yet she still seems to know EVERYTHING about raising a child. You would think she's "been there done that"
*she invites herself everywhere. I HATE THAT!!! I had a friend from out of town in last thursday. She emailed me that day and said she would be over as well. NEVER ASKED!
*She had the lap band surgery 2 years ago this coming April. She eats as much as I do but complains that she isnt losing weight. AND she always talks about how food gets stuck. Every meal I hear that something was stuck.
Vent a little about some friends you have that drive you bonkers...
Love my friends. of course they drive me nuts sometimes. I have a really good friend that Ive known almost my whole life. When you give her a compliment she says "nu uh!" or "no im not". Fishes for compliments kinda.
Now when she gives me a compliment I say "aw thanks!" or "thats so nice of you to say". in her mind thats me saying "I know right!?" So she always comes back with a statement of "I guess you already knew that." or something.
It drives me nuts. But I just roll my eyes and deal with it. :)
Why would I want to bash my friends?
Hannahriedel: You have started three threads (amongst others)...one about your little brother and his marriage, one about your husband not liking you being on Facebook and now one where you rant about a friend.
It seems to me that you have a disproportionate number of interpersonal relationship problems...

Wow! That is all I can say. I just started this to vent and blow off a little steam.

We have just discovered the answer to the US's energy dependence on foreign oil. Let's just hook hanna up to a power turbine.
It's all interdependent... or IOW... when it rains, it pours.
I understand, hannah. :)

My roommate is my former best friend. He plays a lot of World of Warcraft, pees on the floor in the bathroom, and doesn't close his door when he... uh... whacks it. He disgusts me.
So yeah, it could always be worse!

You have NO idea how tempted I've been! I also want to get some stars and moons patches, and sew them all over his bath robe. He's enough of a nerd, he can stand to walk around the house looking like a wizard.
ROFL!

Yup, definitely sounds like more of a sibling than a friend.

LOL, I'm sure we all have friends that drive us crazy from time to time. I don't think that means you have interpersonal relationship problems! If so then I guess I have them too!
I have a friend that I really enjoy for the most part but she is very demanding/controlling and if I don't drop everything when she wants me too she ALWAYS sends me an e-mail that is supposedly her helpful advice (even when I don't ask for it) but it comes across more like a put down. I guess she doesn't realize that I know what she is doing. The last time she actually tried to tell me that I needed to get antidepressants and therapy and she was putting me on "friend watch" because I had gone through a break up and was a little upset about it. I responded and she didn't talk to me for a week. Really good at the "friend watch", LOL.
I have another friend that no matter what has a bigger or better or worse story than yours!
I love them anyways but I understand that they can at times be irritating! I just have to laugh at them sometimes. Despite the annoying things they do they also are very supportive and I'm glad that I have them.

I know I don't. This person just happens to be angry about personal rants today. I'm not the only person! ![]()
I still love my friend to death too!!!! Like I said, she is more of a sister. I am sure I irritate the heck out of her too.
Hmmm, good thing this person doesn't have access to my journals because I have personal rants all the time. Sometimes you just need to let it out! Feels good! I'm sure you do love your friend. Everyone has their quirks!

Are you serious? You poor child!
Dead serious. His room used to be between mine and the bathroom, so when I'd go to use the bathroom at night... I'd see... terrible things. I feel scarred for life.
