Just a rant about lack of progress...
I am frustrated! I know that I have not been eating as well as I should, but regardless, I know that I have not eaten enough in the last week to have gained the better part of 4 pounds during that time. I do weigh and measure my items - and I do try to eat well about 90% of the time while still allowing myself to have a treat here or there.... I know the routine - weightloss isn't new to me. What is new to me, is the frustration that I seem to be having - it's affecting my desire to go workout - and when I do workout it impacts on the intensity ....
I know what I have to do to lose weight and I know that I am not doing it 100% right now - I guess I just didn't expect that it would mean a 4 pound increase.
Anyone willing to commiserate with me?
Is it at all possible that you've eaten 14,000 extra calories over the week? That seems really unlikely to me, but it's the only way you could have actually gained 4 'real' pounds in a week.
More likely explanations:
- Have you started a new exercise program or changed your existing one dramatically? That can make you retain water for a week or two.
- Where are you at in your monthly cycle? Women retain water (up to 5(!) pounds for some) at certain times of the month.
- Was one of your indulgences particularly salty/sugary? That can make you retain water.
Really big changes to our weight tend to relate more to hydration levels than fat gain/loss. I suspect you just need to wait a week or so and re-weigh and you'll probably see those four extra pounds 'disappear' like magic.
I'm pretty sure that I didn't consume 14000 extra calories and I know that I was still quite active this weekend ... I'm sure that it's just water or something ... I'm just frustrated with the lack of movement on the scale - or more correctly I should say no downward movement in the scale.
I'll keep at it and see what transpires next week. Thanks for your comment!
Silly question, but is your scale working correctly?
Not a silly question at all ... in fact I checked it out - seems that it is just fine. I think I"m just having a bad weight week - ![]()
I understand your frustration. No lie... I gained 4 pounds overnight and it stayed around for a whole week. That was an emotional disaster on my part. It was all just water weight from the chips and salsa I engorged myself on the previous night.
Just wait it out... you'll feel better soon.
I hate fat days... and weeks. Your not the only one =D
Good luck!
