Rants
Anything you want to rant about, let's hear it!
My co-worker just came around with a large plate of still warm banana bread. She offered me some, and I steeled myself and then politely said, no thanks. She then stood there in my cubicle telling me all about how it was the best most moist banana bread she had ever had, and how this woman at church gave her the recipe and blah blah blah. Now this woman does know I'm trying to lose weight by eating healthily but she couldn't know that banana bread is a major weakness of mine. I finally had to get up and walk past her using the excuse that I had to grab something out of the printer. AHHHHH Stop offering me yummy fatty foods!!!
Yeah. What is up with that? People around know that I am on a restricted diet, yet they will bring in donuts and all kind of empty calorie treats and say..."Have some"... I really think it is because they want to see us fail!
Oh geez don't get me started lol Ok here is mine for the day. Every Monday night the gym i workout at has PIZZA NIGHT!! So here i am working my butt off and alls i can smell is hot yummy cheesy pizza GRRRRR. Then i have to watch as all these guys and gals chow down slice after slice.
One of my friends said something to the owner one day and his response is its good for business for the people trying to get bigger.
Its VERY frustrating.
I have been trying to eat better since last October, and my family cannot eat healthy, I swear. I see junk food as a drug, like I'm a recovering addict or something. So anyway, my mom went to the grocery store yesterday before coming home from work, and I came in to help her put them up. Wanna know what she bought? Oreo cakesters, 2 bags of Cheetos, Ritz crackers, Chips, and all of the stuff to make her delicious cheesy chicken & rice casserole. No, we were not having a party. Oh, and I forgot. She also got a HUGE box of chocolate covered donuts. It drives me crazy that she can't seem to understand, or even care, that doing that is hurting my progress. I see it as bringing home alcohol when there's someone in the house trying to stay sober.
my coworker looooves to bother me about treats that he's getting and why i don't want any... it just so happens that i don't have much of a sweet tooth... so trips for ice cream, donuts, etc. are not even a matter of depriving myself or anything i just have no interest in it.... but he doesn't seem to get that. he came over with a donut today and waved it around at me and started telling me how i should lighten up and it wouldn't hurt me... um. i don't want a donut. i never want donuts. i just don't really like donuts. why's that such a big deal????
i think he needed to make himself feel better about eating it. he pestered mea bout ice cream once too... sorry it makes me sick and i just dont' want any!!!
he also sat at once lunch and started asking me about if i ever want a big fat juicy steak and how good it is... um, i'm a vegetarian. i know what a steak tastes like. and i think the thought of it on my plate is revolting. thanks for waving that in front of me when i'm just trying to eat my meal!
blah.

sounds like my mom! the closest she gets to eating a vegetable is the occasional corn or iceberg lettuce. that's a salad to her. a plate of iceberg lettuce. she eats rice, white bread, and chicken and not much else. but she does eat oreos, cookies, cakes, chips, cheese doodles, all in abundance on a regular basis. and she's tiny!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! sheesh! i gain weight just walking in the front door!
Someone at work has a kid who works at Starbucks and she's ALWAYS bringing in the day old stuff that the employees get to take home. Cookies, muffins, breads and scones laying out all over the filing cabinets on plates!! Gah!!! I guess I should be thankful they don't have kids that work at KFC....damn, I wish I wouldn't of even thought of KFC...
*rant*
How come my roommate always makes cookies on days when I'm feeling stressed out?! ![]()

First post but totally get what you mean. Every Friday at my work our boss brings in two boxes full of donuts and a box full of facy various flavor filled croissants. I love how the donuts smell but I can now say no if offered. There was a time when i couldnt resist and would have one but that old since I now take my own breakfast to work. I serving of plain Oatmeal, mix in 2tablspoons of ground flax, followed by a banana and an apple an hour later. Love it. Be strong but you know you can treat yourself once in while. I know i use to do it too much hence my weight loss plans. :) Just to give you guys an idea, August 2007=240lbs now March 2008= 172lbs. I am 5'7" so i got a bit to go but i plan to do it right.
here's another one.
My roommates are polar opposites when it comes to food, but they're both bad.
One roommate brings home junk food, she'll have a big bag of doritos (my favorite) out on the table, or girl scout cookies, or chex mix. She'll just lay it out on the coffee table while we're all out there socializing. She'll say, oh have some they're great. Then they sit there for 2 hours during the movie. ARG! I only have so much will power.
My second roommate is a chef in training and is amazing. He loves rich traditional French food. He buys the best stuff, cheeses, wine, olives, Italian meats, oh my gawd. He cooks for us, and it's so good. It's Spanish tapas, and German schnitzel, and everything else around Europe that I just want to inhale. And with this kind of food there is no such thing as 'it's ok in moderation' the smallest portion possible is 1/2 my daily calories.
