how often do you "excrete waste" a day/week? (bowel movements)

i think i'm doing it more often than a healthy person should.

Either it's 2-3 small ones or one massive one for me.

it varies greatly for me.  sometimes it's once a day- other times (when i'm more stressed!) it's 2,3, or even FOUR times in one day.

I've slowed down since my lifestyle change - about four times a week.

Minimum of once a day, max of about 4-5 a day depending on what I ate.

I drop a deuce about 4-5 times a day, no joke, but I LOVE coffee in the morning, so the first three are usually because of that! Ha!

I think it's normal unless you feel like it's not a regular poo, i.e. diarrhea and such...

Once a day, at the very least. Sometimes more than that, depending on what I ate.

I'm jealous of you all!

it's good to know i'm not the only one.

i go about 2-5 times a day, and not small either. i abused laxatives almost daily for about 3 months, but haven't touched them in about 1-2 months but ever since i quit.. it always feels as if i ate a box of laxatives or something everytime i go.

it might be because of my binging, not sure. sorry, this is such an awkward topic :|

'Normal' is anywhere between one and four times a day, depending on how much/often you eat... obviously, the more you put into your body, the more there's going to be to come out again. Eating a high-fiber diet bulks it up and makes it seem like more again. The original poo-mistress herself, Gillian whatever her name was who did that 'you are what you eat' show, was always saying that the signs of a healthy high-fiber vegetable-rich diet were that it should be soft but not liquid or messy, quick and easy to produce, at least once a day, and NOT smelly... And she's right too.

once, typically after my first cup of coffee.

Experts say that in a healthy body you should go after meals. I eat 5 small meals daily, go to the bathroom 5 times a day. However if I eat out and have something gressy, watch out, my body doesn't like that.

In a typical week I'll go anywhere between 2-5 times.

It was normal for me to not go days at a time, then after I got home from Europe in October I was going everyday like clockwork in the evening. For the last month-ish it's gone back to every few days. I remember having a convo about this with a friend in Australia, I said I went maybe 2-3 times a week and he was shocked because he goes like 4 times a day lol.

Erica - when I flew to Europe I got really really constipated, seriously didn't go for like a week+, couldn't eat much in one sitting or I'd feel so 'packed' but anyway lol, I got some laxatives and it had specific dosage instructions, and if you used it too often it said they could alter how your bowels work. If it doesn't go back to 'normal' (whatever normal was for you), maybe ask the doc about it? Unless it's not a problem for you.

...every time I eat.

At least once a day, more if i'm eating lots of veggies

Usually twice a day. I've heard that anything between four times a day and four time a week is normal.

It used to be 2-3 times a week for me, but I started eating 1 tbs. of milled flaxseed a day, and now I go every day.

How much fiber is enough??? I'm with cellulitedelight on this one and I get about 20-30g of fiber a day...And I drink plenty of water.

By the way, thanks OP for this post!  I've been wondering if I were normal and just didn't want to ask!

2 times per week when I'm dieting.

4-5 times per week when I eat normally.

I have flaxseed but I rarely eat it.  Maybe I should try that for a while. It's about a year old.  Think I should get some fresh stuff?
