Had a friend who did this but went even farther.  "Living foods."   Ate lots of sprouting things in addition to fresh fruits and veggies.  He got very very thin but his complexion looked angelic and even the gas he expelled had a pleasant odor (gross observation, but also not so gross, really).  He said it took intense focus and discipline, but it led him into many other areas as a healer.  Now he's a massage therapist, Reiki specialist and I don't know what all.

It seemed extreme to me but it was better than his extreme marijuana addiction before he got healthy.

I know Vegans who eat this way when they're on the road and have no way to cook stuff.

Try it and see.  Not my cup of tea.

Have you planned where you're going to get your protein and fats from?  How about your iron and calcium?  If you've worked out a plan that will make sure you get all the micronutrients and macronutrients your body needs then good luck!  If not, please take the time to work out a plan first.

I essentially only ate fruits & veggies for about 1 year.  I should mention this was when my anorexia was extremely active, but i did lose a lot of weight.  Just a warning, though:  I would avoid the mindset that "i can eat as much fruit/veg/whatever as I want [because its healthy]" because you can gain weight from too much of anything.

There's more to a Raw Food Diet than just reading fruits & vegetables.

Sounds like an eating disorder. Just saying...

UD

this does work...more of a vegan diet...the raw veggies are very healthy for you...but you need to introduce grains and nuts to...check the nutrient values on CC food log..you will get a good mix of nutrients to meet all your dietary needs.

The only meat I eat is poultry during the weight loss campaign.

However I do what your doing when I do a colon cleanse but other times I eat a balanced diet to include the other items mentioned.

Good luck

 = not raw.

Did you know that carrots are more nutritious after being lightly cooked than they are eaten raw?...   Some other vegetables are as well.  If you want a genuinely healthy diet that gives you a broad range of nutrition it's important to combine raw and cooked foods and as big a variety as posisble.   Microwave meals are OK in an emergency but they're not meant to be a dietary staple.   Learn to cook and then you get the best of all worlds.

Actually, I've heard really good things about eating a raw diet.  When you cook food, you kill the beneficial enzymes they contain that aid digestion.  Sure, there are definitely vegetables like tomatoes that we get more nutrients out of when we cook them, but there are also nutrients that we only get from raw food.  A balance of raw and cooked food is probably best.

I have been thinking about trying to eat just raw foods one day a week and see how it goes.  It's not something I'd want to be restricted to every day for the rest of my life, but from what I've heard from people who've tried it, they feel healthy and energetic.

Eating raw can be healthy but you do have to do your homework and can't just eat a bunch of fruits an veggies.  You really should eat lots of raw fruits/ vegetables/nuts and seeds/sprouted grains and beans/sea vegetables some even inclue raw dairy/eggs and fish.

You have to know your stuff.

I worked with a woman who has a lot of digestive issues and the only thing that helped was eating all raw.

I tried it and took away a lot of wonderful things like green smoothies, hemp seeds, coconut oil and I eat more raw veggies an fruits and whole food than I did before, but 100% raw was not for me.

That being said what you are doing is not eating raw.
