How to reach my goal by March
O.K. I've slacked off A LOT since the holidays came around. I've not been disciplined and have been eating healthy and exercising whenever the mood strikes. I had lost 15lbs, but gained 2 back, and lost another one recently, which currently puts me at 150lbs. My ultimate goal is to be 120lbs BUT I know that I probably wont reach that by March 13th, so I'm wondering what I need to do to get as close to my goal as possible by then. I'm planning on eating 1200 calories a day, doing an hour of cardio 5 days a week (intervals of running/walking for 20 mins, 10 mins of walking, intervals for another 20 minutes, and 10 mins of walking), and doing strength training two days a week at home. Will this be enough to get down to 130?
I believe that you need more calories for the amount of energy you plan to put forth..1200 cal is the absolute minimum a woman should go...and thats only if you are sedentary and do not plan on exercising. Chances are, you may put your body into starvation mode, and then everything you put in your body, it will store as fat in fear that it will not have the proper amount of calories for the amount extended. chances are you will hit a wall, and get really burnt out, which is usually discouraging. I would do some research on it to find the proper intake you need.
I'm doing this in metric - because it's the only way I know.
You want to lose 30lb = 13.6kg. That represents 477,000 kJ or about 1000 apples.
March 13th is 3+28+12 = 43 days away. In 43 days I'd be able to lose about 4.3kg, but that's without any exercise, just eating less.
So you want to lose the other 9.3kg through exercise, which is 216g of fat a day. Using Calorieking.com as a very basic guide, 230ml of olive oil (which probably weighs about 216g, although I haven't checked this) represents about 212 minutes of running, about 3 1/2 hours a day.
So my guess is that no, that's not enough. However, 13.6kg is not a lot, and 9.3kg is even less. most people won't notice 5kg, so if you exercise the way you wanted to, as well as eat less, you'd probably be about 7kg above goal.
Lol, thanks.
