When you reach your target too early?
What do you do when you have an "oops" and you are at your calorie limit by 4 PM? Should you not eat till the next day, or should you eat as little as possible just so you're not starving? I'm a veteran calorie counter but am clueless on this one because usually when I have an "oops" , I just keep right on going.
it's ok to eat over your goal ammount once in a while, actually it's even healthy, it keeps your body guessing, i'd say as long as you just try to eat healthy foods, not a lot of carbs, you should be fine.
Certainly don't let yourself go hungry, eat something sensible. It's just one day and it's not like you're binging or eating a whole tray of cookies (um, like I just did?)
Yes, I also eat if I am too hungry. Right now I am pretty hungry, but it is 10:12 at night here so I won't eat, but if it were 8pm I would have something small to take the edge off the hunger at least.
I push through it and don't eat.
It's that hint of negative reinforcement that serves as a "now, remember this next time you're about to stray from the path, because you don't want to have to go through it again."
You should defiantly eat something!!! Of course should eat foods that are low in calories and fats for the rest of the evening. It is terrible for your body if you go that long without eating. Your body will actually go into something that is known as survivor mode. Your body will store all the fat it can because it thinks that you are starving yourself and stores the fat so that you will stay alive for longer. not only that but if you do in fact see that you are losing weight by doing this you are losing muscle weight NOT the fat that you are trying to lose. like many others have said its only one day every now and again it will not effect your weight loss program as long as you don't do it all that often and as long as you do not eat tons of fatty foods after you have gone over your limit. if you feel guilty for going over your limit, after you eat go for a relaxing walk or add a little to your next days workout. but starving yourself is the WORST thing you can do. Good Luck. i hope my advice has been helpful!
Thank you so much, everyone. I really appreciate the responses.
