I Reached My Goal!
I thought I'd like to share with all the CC'ers here.
I started out at the beginning of this summer (end of May) weighing 146 pounds and I was miserable. During the school year, I'd eat a pop tart for breakfast, french fries and snickers for lunch, and come home and pig out on what my mom served her daycare kids for lunch: things like hamburgers, tacos, spaghetti... (my mom has a daycare in our home, but that's besides the point)
I took the initiative this summer to do something about myself. I started using calorie count (I've had an account since October but didn't do anything with it), talked to people like me and got really motivated, ate healthier, exercised, and played a lot of tennis (which I love now...I've been playing for years but have gotten so much better this year because I know the benefits of it and play it to the fullest).
Today, I am 126 pounds, which means I lost 20 pounds this summer. It seems like a lot, but I did it in a really healthy way (about 2 pounds a week.) School starts this Friday so I did it just in time.
Overall, I went from 146 pounds with a slightly overweight BMI to 126 pounds and a healthy BMI. I went from a juniors 11 in pants and large/x-large in shirts to a 9 or 7 depending on the type of bottoms and medium shirt.
Now that I have completed this goal, I think I'm going to go for another 6-11 pounds and try to maintain. If I don't, I'll be happy anyways knowing that I lost so much this summer.
I kept a picture log of me in the same outfit (a sports top and tennis shorts) over time. I took a picture after every 5 pounds I lost and you can really tell the difference! It's amazing how the body works but anyways...
I just wanted to share a story of success and that I actually did it! You don't know how many unsuccessful stories I had before I got share this one, so it's an even more satisfying feeling.
I'll still be around (I want to lose a little more/maintain), but I just wanted to say thank you to CC...without it, it would have been a bigger struggle.

WOW! 20 pounds! Congratz! You have no idea how much is helps to read stories like this :). It's nice to hear about someone young losing weight the healthy way (exercising and still eating!). Keep up the good work.
Way to Go!~ Losing that much and keeping focused is fantastic and you will be so excited on the first day of school. Congrats!
Keep it up ;)
Congrats Tabby_123!
You've done a great job, losing it at a healthy rate and you look great too! You're an inspiration to the rest of us! I love to hear success stories! I'm still 10 pounds away and hope to join ya soon in the "Made Goal" category! lol
Thanks for sharing!
Congrats! Doesn't it just feel great? And it makes up for every one of those days when you thought you couldn't do it...because you see for the first time that you had it in you all along =P
I wish I would've thought of that...I've only found pictures of myself a few years ago and totally been amazed. That picture every five pounds things is a totally great idea, though.
Has anyone you know from school seen you since you lost all that weight? If they haven't, imagine all the double-takes you'll get when you head back!

Nope. No one's seen me yet except for one person and he was stunned. ![]()
This will be the fun part of going back to school this year!
Is jump roping as good an exercise as running?
