Just reached my goal weight! Want to start a group for people like me who have reached their goal this week!

Hey I have just reached my goal weight. I am 5'2 and weighed 123lbs back in July. My goal was to reach 110lbs by my Bday (sept 22). Didn't quite make it, but I hit 108.5 today when I weighed. So I'm done. Now I need to maintain and learn how to stop counting calories and not gain the weight back. I think it would really help to start a group for people like me who have just reached their goal and need some accountability to help them maintain. Just to share ideas and tell each other what's working and what's not. If you're in just reply with your stats and anything else you want to add.

Here's mine

sarahgdyck - age 30, 5'2 - 108.5lb (goal 110lb)

What is circut training? I'm 5'1, 49 yrs.old weigh 135, I did weigh 152. I eat around 1200 cal. a day. Walk around 45  min. to a hour each day. the weight is coming off so slow. I am wearing a size 6, was in a size 10 barely, probably  a size 12. I've only lost about 3 lbs. in the past 4 weeks.

Hi lynette. You might find more info on circuit training over in the Fitness forum...

I haven't been logging in my food for 3 days now, after having a major family fight I really couldn't log or eat. I'm eating again but not logging, just keeping a slight tally in my head, like hmm, 500 for brekkie, 500 for lunch, and now dinner.

I like not logging and I made a lovely recipe tonight of stuffed shells using f/f ricotta, some mozarella, and frozen spinach. Yummy, lowfat, and good protein (so filling).

Anyway I broke my little toe too so I'm not exercising too much :( I can ride my bike but only in my thongs. Walking is way too hard. So we'll see what happens, eh? I was 107.5 this morning, so down another pound.

I'm beginning to agree with dm84, logging the rest of my life is not what I want to do. I want to be conscious of what I eat, but not be a slave to counting.
I've not been logging food or exercise for a week! Having hurt my little toe shifting furniture several days ago I haven't been getting in much exercise. And I think it's making me feel a bit flabby, ew!

Haven't gained any weight though and I think I've been eating healthy enough. When I was losing weight I liked to eat throughout the day, having several meals, but now I'm ok with bigger meals at lunch and dinner. Still like to have some toast with coffee in the early a.m., then cereal later...but sometimes I don't get around to the cereal and just grab a cereal or granola bar. Anyway if I do that I try to have a pot of yogurt too for some protein and calcium. Still keeping a running tally of calories in my head.

I've used the recipe analyser a few times but just to record a recipe so I can make it again rather than to calculate the calories. I like making lowfat versions of traditionally highfat dishes. This week had corn chowder, and also a veggie lasagna with white sauce. How is everyone else doing??
Hi, just thought it was werd, but our birthdays are the same (: And so is our height (almost, Im five two and a half) And your weight is what my nutritonists goal weight is for me :P

Sorry, it has nothing really to do with your post, just thought it was weird!
Maintenance is going pretty well after almost three weeks--so far so good. Even with the planned overindulgence of Thanksgiving Dinner and the unplanned arrival and devouring of candy that we bought from my niece (for some Girl Scout fundraiser, I think), and some less-than-ideal high sodium eating choices the last couple of days, I'm still doing okay. Currently at 166 as of today (hoping to stay between 163-165)--I'm sure that a couple of days of staying within recommended sodium guidelines will get me back to where I want to be.

What helps me with maintaining weight is keeping up my exercise program, a reality that had somehow escaped me until now. Before, I would think, "I reached my weight goal, now I can relax in front of the television, snack on whatever I want, and not go to the gym." I failed to look at my efforts as part of an overall lifestyle change, choosing instead to return to my old habits. Well, IT DOESN'T WORK, especially as I get older.

I'd love to stop measuring my food intake and counting calories, but I don't feel like I'm ready to do that (yet). Perhaps I'll reconsider come spring, when the warmer weather does wonders for suppressing my appetite.

I am probably going to post a motivation photo today! :) Not really sure. I've been maintaining and then some. I lost another 2 pounds without even trying. I was going to be happy with maintaining 140, and I peeked at the scale today and it said 136.4... and I'm on TOM. So I've no idea. Scale flaw? Or maybe my metabolism is speeding up. I've been eating more believe you me.

Woo hoo okay time to go post motivation. ;)

Melinda your photos were great! Congratulations again and again, can't say it enough :)

I did a funny thing tonight and logged in what I had eaten today (haven't been logging since Nov 10th. It was all good, lots of fibre and protein. One thing I noticed tho is that in spite of having almond butter, avocado, and cheese today, I still only had about 17% fat. So I could do better there...

The exercise area could be going better, but with the shorter days, cooler weather, and lots to do with holiday shopping, organising, etc, I find I haven't been doing as much, especially on the bike. Tomorrow maybe. Luckily I have my dog and she tends to whinge if she doesn't get a daily walk.

No weight gain to report, holding steady at around 108ish.
How is everyone doing with maintenance? I've stopped losing since I stopped counting. My low was 106.5 and now I'm 109. I've been much more liberal in my eating and had to bake two birthday cakes this month which led me to eat cake and frosting on several occasions.

The next day I make a real effort to stay on track and eat healthy. But I notice I've been having a few bits of candy at work too. The challenge is to balance out everything. I think if I was still exercising consistently I'd be just fine.

My pinkie toe (seriously injured in mid-November) is finally hurting less. But there seems to be so much going on with holiday shopping, errands, work, shorter days, cold weather, that I haven't been doing my bike riding. Yesterday I took a short ride, well bundled up, and it was still chilly. And this was at midday when the sun was shining. I just don't seem to be able to handle that cold wind.

Summing up, I'm fine with my current weight, don't want to continue to gain though so am posting here to make myself accountable.
Very nice figurethefat.  You are doing great!

I am well.  109 and I am not counting, no cheat sheet. Just the best choices in food that keep me full.  Even a touch of the "sweet" stuff for the soul.  Just had my son's 16th B-Day, had a sensible dinner out (yes, sensible when eating out) and even a sensible peice of B-Day cake.  I have to admit, I left the frosting behind (a bit too sweet for me).  Great to have a place to be "accountable" and listen to eachother.
Hmmm, playergirl, I've never been one to leave the frosting behind. BTW those BBQ Lays Baked are 120 calories for an ounce serve and have 3 grams fo fat.

Sensible eating is so nice, isn't it?
figurethefat, silly question, how many chips in that ounce serving?

What's "nicer" is knowing how to eat sensibley(sp) : )
eh, the chips tend to crumble more than ordinary chips. If I reach in the bag and grab a handful that's about a 1/2 a serve, so two handfuls in one ounce. Hmm, I got out a cup too and weighed a cup full. Just over the brim is an ounce. So yeah, plenty for a side along a nice healthy sandwich :)
Hi figurethefat,

Bought those Baked Lays. They aren't bad.  Have to be honest, they are nothing like the "real thing" (Honey BBQ), but a great substitute.  Thanks for the tip : )
I've been known to yoyo up and down over the years. I drop the pounds then they creep back on. I just weighed 113! So that's 6 lbs more than the 107 I weighed the end of November. It's not a good sign. Part of that is water-retention because I ate popcorn, and some marinated mushrooms, but it's disturbing anyway.

My biggest setback is not working out. I never actually "worked out" but I did ride my bike almost everyday, or walked. Then I hurt my toe and the weather turned chilly and the days are so short.

Well I'm going to use the solstice as my turning point back to regular exercise and regular eating. I bought lots of fruit and veg yesterday so I'm all set!
I would like someone else to post here besides me!

Ok, I'm 110.5 this morning so the healthy eating is working. Also I've been working towards meeting the exercise goal of 1750 minutes for December. I was such a slackass that to make it I have to do 100 minutes today and everyday thereafter through the 31st.

After a few days of uninhibited eating over the "holidays" I've been so happy to return to picking and choosing my meals. It so helps to have fruit and veggies around to eat! Also need to get some more crispbreads too and yogurt.

I guess the whole healthy eating thing has become a positive habit :) And it's great to check in on cc everyday and hold myself accountable, see what others are going through, blah blah blah. So post up and let's hear it fellow maintainers! Happy New Year!
hi guys! i just reached my goal weight too. is there room for me? im also 5'2 and weigh 110. im not really sure if im maintaing or loosing still. i eat around 1 300 to 1 400 calories a day.
figurethefat - yes ma'am!

I knew you would figure it out.  Holidays run havoc when trying to eat healthy.  I am so glad you have gotten back on track.  I knew you would figure it all out.

Hi katelyn and congratulations!  A quick question, are you still trying to lose weight or increase your calories slowley?  Do you exercise or are you "sedentary"?  When I was counting, I found I was in the same calorie intake range as you, as still losing.  Something for you to think about in getting to 1500 calories at least to maintain; unless you are still wanting to  lose.

I am okay.  In figuring everything out, stopping the counting in November, I am now 107 pounds.  I choose the healthiest foods and feel as I eat sensibley.  That is why I was so comfortable in finally letting go of the maddness of counting calories and using my cheat sheet.  Once you have lost all the weight, counting calories for too much beyond a month in maintaining is to me maddening and counter productive.  If I learned anything in CC it is to eat well and my body will treat me well.  One more important note:  Just because you are not "dieting" anymore doesn't mean a free card for stopping exercise.  It is a part of a healthy lifestyle. Eat well, get in physical actvity and your body will treat you right!

well when i started i wanted to get to 110, which is were i am, and i think im pretty satisfied were i am at so i havnt been trying to lose any weight for the past couple weeks. buuuut, im eating around 1300 to 1400, to just see how it effects my weight. i have 2 or 3 p(maybe 3) pretty intense workouts a week and work 4 times a week just standing all day. what do u think i should be eating...

oh and iv been wondering about this too. I know it takes 3500 calories to gain pound. but what i am confused about is does those extra 3500 calories start over from day to day or from week to week...

or does it work like say your suppose to consume 1500 daily and one day u consume 1700 and the next day 1600...so do those extra calories just add up within a period of time until you hit 3500 over and then gain that pound? lol does anyone understand my confusion??? thanks<3

Well, congratulations katelyn1188!!!  Gradually increasing your calories, based solely on the fact you have an intense workout session 3 times per week, and get up to at least 1600 - 1700 calories a day would be great.  I had a similar issue with 1300 - 1400 where weight loss "stalled" so I assumed it was maintenance calories; within two weeks I was dropping weight!  So getting up to 1500 would be a good idea and 1600 a week later.

You know it takes 3500 calories to gain a pound.  IF you were to overeat and indulge in 500 more calories everyday for 7 days, yes, you would gain a pound (500 x 7 = 3500).  It doesn't matter if you ate 3500 calories in excess of your maintenance calories, you will gain the pound : (

However, increasing from 1300 - 1400 to 1600 - 1700 is only an increase of 300 - 400 calories, so very doubtful you will gain weight.

Good Luck,  Eat Healthy*,  Stay Active and Congratulations !!!

*I anticipate your next question - how to increase calories -?  Have an "indulgence" every once in a while.  For the most part, using more olive oil, adding more in your Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner serving size, dates, nuts, raisins.  Whatever you like. Just stay active.  It looks like you do and you look wonderful.
ahhh thanks! your so much help. i have noo problem getting to 1500 (considering i just ate mc donalds lol) but ill just increase gradually like you said.  so i guess i will just aim for a calorie level of 1600 in the end and see how that goes. past my bed time, night ladies!
