I read the entire Twilight series in less than 2 weeks. I have not read a book for fun since grade school. I was so totally obsessed with these books I have barely done anything but read them all day.

Now I am done.

And I want to keep reading.

But what?

I want more Twilight. But there is no more.

I need some suggestions on what to read now.

I do not have patience for books that are slow and boring. It has to get my attention quick or I am over it.

Based on my obsession with Twilight can you compare that to anything else I might like to read?

Thanks. Schnood

While I cannot personally relate to you preference-wise, you do sound a bit like my sister, who is absolutely obsessed with that series as well. Another book that she enjoyed was The Invisible Wall, a true love story that took place some time around World War I. Aside from the story itself, which my sister very much enjoyed, the book deals with issues concerning the significance of religion, in addition to the influence of one's family on one's personal life. I have not personally read it, but my sister did, and she liked it. Anyway, that's my suggestion.

I haven't read any of the Twilight books, but there are quite a few books that I love.  Are you familiar with any of Janet Evanovich's books about Stephanie Plum?  They're crime novels, but are pretty funny...Stephanie is a lingerie buyer turned bounty hunter.  They move pretty quickly.  I've also read all of Jen Lancaster's memoirs.  I know, you're probably thinking a memoir is pretty slow and boring, but she's HYSTERICAL!  Her books (in order) are Bitter is the New Black; Bright Lights, Big Ass; Such a Pretty Fat; and Pretty in Plaid.

Schnood,

Just started another series same simular story line. Give them a try. Charlaine Harris, Dead until Dark,

whatever you do, don't read anything by fern michael's-  IMO.  picked it up by accident and wanted to throw myself on the tracks on my train ride home.

How about The Southern Vampire series by Charlaine Harris

My bookworm daughter (who's totally obsessed with anything Twilight-ish) suggested The Host (also by Stephanie Meyer) to me after I read Twilight.  I read it and I'll admit it was quite captivating.

i'm the same way, didn't read books for forever until the twilight series.

got really into a few novels by james frey.. a lot more realistic but still interesting. 'a million little pieces' and 'my friend leonard'

Twilight is basically a mini rip-off of these books... they're quite good.

Yes, go for the Charlaine Harris Sookie Stackhouse series. They're cheesy, but still somewhat dark. A bit more R rated than Twilight. The new HBO series "True Blood" is based on them. I've read them all (6 or 7) and read through each pretty quickly.

ugh. i attempted to read one of her books and found it so stupid i couldn't continue. Undecided

loved twilight series as well - have you read "midnight sun" yet? also the vampire academy books are up that alley, not quite as good as twilight, but light years better than the sookie stackhouse novels, IMO...

ooh and i just finished "the historian" which is a more historical novel re: vampirism and the legend of dracula - still a wonderful novel and so easy to sucked into!

yes "the host" was wonderful too! what a concept for a storyline 'eh?

Not at all in the vampire vein, but have you read anything by Tom Robbins?  His books are quirky and fun.  My favorite is Jitterbug Perfume; it's an older one.

Hey!

I was in your shoes about a month ago! I just started reading "Bitten and Smitten" and love it!

The Sookie Stackhouse novels seem to be a twilight alternative according to some people.

Go to Stephanie Meyers website and read the first 13 chapters of Midnight Sun! It's the 1st book in Edwards perspective! Really good!

Try the Outlander series by Diana Gabaldon. It's kind of like twilight in some ways but more "mature"...  not young adult fiction. Less sci-fi/fantasy (although a wee bit) and more steamy hot love scenes that take it to the next level vs. Twilight.

I did also like The Host, very much (by same author as Twilight). I actually read that before the Twilight series and it's the only reason I decided to give Twilight a try...

Can you tell I love to read lol. ther eis another series but for the life of me I cannot remmebe rthe name but I can see the cover Of the first book, will try to remember. If I think of any mor eI will post them

Ive never read any of the tilight series, but Kim Harrison has a really fun series that started with Dead Witch Walking (I'm not going to list them all, look here if you're interested).

Goofy, silly, funny, sexy. I've enjoyed the entire series and can't wait for more.

I had heard the Twilight series was pretty straightlaced, this review actually cracked me up, but some may find it offensive.

Okay I can't find that dang book anywhere it was suppose to be a series and was the first one. the cover was black with a femal bare midriff and scratches across her stomach I think her shirt was red. It was werewolf ish bu the turned to panthers. Thriller and Romance. I think the name had something to do with being scratched or scratch tried searhing google but nothing. Grrrrr sorry no help but is was good.

There's the Anne Rice vampire series which begins with Interview With The Vampire. Anne Rice also has a good witch series that begins with The Witching Hour.

If you like detective stories with serial killers try the John Stanford "Prey Series". You don't need to read the Prey Series in order. They are fascinating and quick paced. Can't put them down. There must be 10 of them now.

If you like psychological thrillers try Jonathan Kellerman and his Alex Delaware novels. Alex Delaware is a psychologist that solves mysteries involving his patients. They are quite good and each one is very different.
