Hi,

I've been trying to get healthy on and off for the past year.  I can't seem to stick with anything, really.  I've recently decided that I am tried of always giving up, so I am determined to find something that I can stick to.  I have wanted to lose some weight for a while now.  I am so tired of feeling bad about myself and not doing anything about it.

I'm trying to lose about 15 pounds in the next two months.  I'm 5'6'' and  weigh 140 now.  I'm not overweight but I have put on some weight this year.

I've been biking for about an hour everyday along with a 30 minute ab workout.  Once I can stick with this, I want to incorporate a morning run.  I'm changing my diet to smaller portions and I'm always eating mostly fresh fruits and vegetables with very little meat.

Any advice or comments is welcomed!!

hi peg!

my advice is to commit for a month.  it often takes a couple of weeks to see results, and if you're committed for a specific (but not excessive) amount of time, you're less likely to get discouraged.

once you start to see results, it's easy to keep going because you know it works!

i think your plan sounds like a good one.  just be prepared to forgive yourself if you blow it for a day here and there.

I know how your feeling. I did weight watchers for a month, gave up. I did the south beach diet thing, gave up. My trainer got me started on counting calories. And I do have to say, it's the one and only diet that I've stuck to and can actually do. It was hard at first, don't get me wrong. And there were plenty of days where I wanted to quit because I was hungry, but I got past that. And now it's just a way of life for me. But also, I think you have to be totally commited. And for once, I was. I was tired of being overweight and feeling blah all the time, and I totally hated to even look in the mirror. I'm 5'7 and I started at 154 lbs. Now I'm at 134 lbs and I feel so good about myself. You can do, if I can do it, trust anyone can do it.

GOOD LUCK!!!!!
