Ok I am just about ready to GIVE UP!!!

Quote  |  Reply

my story is this, I am 29 yo. and for as long as I can remember my self I have been about 10 lbs away from my goal weight, I have been known as the sexy girl with the "butt" (that I hate). I have tried a few diets in my life and only once I actually made it.... but then gained it all back.

I love food - the good stuff!

So I decided that's it, I will loose it once and for all so I started joging (30 min three times a week) woke up early dropped my kids at school and did it, it still goes on three times a week. At first gained weight (the first four months) and then lost it to the weight I started from: 136. I got to the point where I said OK, this is not working for me, all the hard work for 6 straight months and - NOTHING. So I started watching what I ate more and got down to 1200 cal a day, then I started to lose the weight, and was soooo happy, it went on for two weeks exactly.

After two weeks I saw something I liked so I said why not and ate it, and again and again and ... well you know the story, I started eating the regular food - the one I like. And that, I can't explain, I just get to a point and break all the rules.

I am still looking for the perfect plan for me that helps me enjoy all worlds, but that would probably be impossible.

I am about to give up on looking good and feeling good about my self

Maby I should just accept who I am and live with it.

It's possible that you just don't have that much weight to lose. It's also possible that you aren't eating enough, depending on your height.

When you don't eat enough your metabolism slows and it really won't matter how much you burn because your body stores the calories. Also there is no reason to stop eating regular food. I eat fast food, candy, and things I like (not every day) and I lost 20 pounds.

I'm with alex4422... there's no reason to stop eating regular food.  I just try to balance a "bad" meal with a healthy one on the days I have take out, etc.  I just try to go more sparingly on the bad stuff.  I still eat what I want, just a little less of it.

As far as losing that last 10 pounds goes... It really depends on your height.  Is your goal at a healthy level or are you expecting too much?  136 is a healthy weight for most people.  If you're considered the sexy one... then, personally, I wouldn't worry too much as long as you're not gaining.

Noone likes a flat butt!  It's good to have a little junk in your trunk!  Just look at Jennifer Lopez, she's thin, with a little junk and I think she's a very attractive lady.  A lot of it has to do with how your body is structured!

Why not accept yourself the way you are? It sounds to me like you're killing yourself just to lose that extra 10lbs!

Instead of doing cardio how about doing some resistance training on the elliptical/step trainer? Not only will this tone your 'problem area' but it'll also do wonders for your thighs.

If you still care about the number on the scales then check you're actually burning as much as you think. That way you can avoid overeating and putting on weight. BTW, I don't think at 136lbs you are anywhere near fat, and it sounds like people like your deriere! If you're absolutely desperate then you can always go for a lipo...

Well, first I would like to say thank you for taking the time to help.

As we speek I just finished my third slice of pizza...

(I don't do this every day).

I will try the elliptical and keep my mind off the numbers. That way I will have no pressure.

I know you and I are all  in the same boat and I didn't meen to disscurage any of you...

so again, thank you.

Hey, no problem.

3 slizes of pizza? No big deal. At least it's not 3 whole pizzas. You're allowed to treat yourself sometimes (as you said it's not an every day occurrence which is how it's supposed to be).

Do take the pressure off yourself, especially if you have other demands. And, take it from me - it becomes deadly boring and dull to think about everything you have eaten, how many calories, what you really want to eat and how many calories you have burnt.

Message me anytime if you would like any further advice and I'll try to help as much as possible.

I would say that if your husband likes your body, don't worry so much about it!  Most guys like a curvy rear!  If you are a single mom, just do your best and keep getting regular exercise.  If you put your health first, good looks almost have to follow.  You don't have to eat special low-cal foods all the time-- have a bowl of cereal for breakfast if you know you will be having a special lunch or dinner that day.  The calories will even out.  And yes, you should focus on the things you like about yourself rather than what you would change.  Think positive, we gals are too hard on ourselves!
