So I just realized I get paid to have sex

Quote  |  Reply

I start work at 6am every day by waking my boss up (as he's apparently incapable of doing this on his own). Now, we're both attracted to each other but can't actually date because of the inevitable opposition all the other folks at work would have to this (did I mention he's the CEO?). So about once a week we end up having sex after I wake him up, and it just occurred to me that since I'm on the clock starting when I get to his place I'm technically being paid to sleep with him.

So... while this pretty clearly makes the both of us just a touch unethical, I don't feel like I'm a prostitute because I'm enjoying it just as much as him and there's certainly no requirement (spoken or implied) that I do this.

Any thoughts? Should I just take my act to the streetcorner? I figured an anonymous internet forum was the way to go due to the nature of this topic.

I get in a sense you are getting paid to have sex, but I wouldn't be quite so concerned about it.

I don't understand.  Do you work in his home?  What is he doing sleeping at work?

I think the whole thing is inappropriate. You waking him up as part of your job, and you two having sex.

Wow.  Just..wow...

Wait, are you asking us if you should just go be a prostitute?

And I agree with lippygal
Oh yes, I agree, lippy.  I moved straight past the whole moral aspect, right to the pragmatic questions I had.  :/

troll

I would be more concerned about what will happen when the co-workers who would disapprove of you "dating" inevitably discover that you are sleeping together.  Is there some distinction there I'm missing?

My advice is to polish up your resume.

Prostitution? Maybe. You can call it whatever you want. Its inappropriate nonetheless. If you don't feel good about it, it is wrong based on that fact alone as well.

newish member, first post...

hmmm.

how old are you?
how old is he?
what is your job title?
are you saying you like your job, but are now considering prostitution?
do you live in rural nevada where prostitution is legal?

Yes.  We need Clarification!

i agree with lys - and that almost never happens.  you need a new job and a new set of boundaries.

HA HA HA HA HA ~~~~~ LMAO!!!!

The only person who has any business judging you is you!

If you want my meager opinion You are not a prostitute and keep it a private act. I will however say this.

I dated a guy from work.

I fell head over for him. He treated me like crap so I dumped him but because I saw him at work every day he would work that angle to wriggle his way back in.

Yes I know DOORMAT but you never really leave until you are right with it in your head do you and he was right in my face every day!

This went on for 5 years on and off like a damn soap opera. Finally I got to the enough is enough point but because he and I were at work he made things highly uncomfortable to the point where I left the company and the thing is aside from him I didn't want to leave.

Lesson learned co-workers make strange bedfellows.

Just be careful especially with a CEO. God help you he hold a grudge after a fight and find a way to put your job in danger.

This has nothing to do with anything but my psycho proceeded to stalk me and my family I moved got restraining orders(not because he was abusive but because it was creepy and deliberate and I have a kid and he approached her and even went so far as to contact my parents and brother in an effort to "win me back"), he ended up being arrested 3 times after that and because of him I have not dated anyone in 2 years. Just now starting to get the itch he soured me good.

All because I couldn't keep my hands off of company men!

You seem like a sweet funny person, Be careful that's all.

EDIT: I didn't see this as prostitution I saw it as being attracted to your boss which lead to you waking him up.

Haha, alright, some clarification:

I realize it's not the most wise thing to be doing, what with the ethical issues, but other than that I don't have a problem with it. And I know there's not really much difference between dating and sleeping together, besides the fact that I wouldn't want a secret boyfriend.

I drive to his place every morning to wake him up (my job is basically "professional wife," apparently now with the sex). I don't really look at it like I'm a prostitute but it struck me as funny that the situation could be perceived that way.

And for the record, he's 36 and I'm 23

um, yeah, some clarification is needed.

What kind of job do you have that waking up your boss is part of your actual  duties? (Are you a secretary, assistant, co-executive????)

And while it seems kind of trite given the situation, I'm curious - why does a person have to wake him up?  He's a CEO and can't afford an alarm clock?

Dear, are you sure there isn't much difference to you between dating and sleeping together? Are you sure you are ok with this?

"Professional Wife" is an actual job title?  What else do you do besides wake him up and have sex?
