what is a reasonable rate of fat loss?
I'm not sure if this has been asked, I didn't really see anything that fit what I was looking for.
A trainer friend of mine has offered to train me for free for six weeks (super generous of him!) and in return all I have to do is give him referrals and stuff. I'm curious as to what to expect. If I stick perfectly to the diet and exercise plan, how much fat loss can I expect, say on a weekly basis? We're looking to lower my body fat %, which is currently at 29% (eek!). Has anyone out there lowered their BF%, and if so how much and in how much time?
Thanks in advance.
You can actually do the calculations yourself - the absolute max for fat loss is about 31kcal/lbs fat mass/day even in the best case scenario. People tend to only hit 20-25kcal/lbs fat mass/d though as pushing your body to the extreme boundary is an absolutely miserable experience.
You've got your weight and your percentage body fat, you should be able to do the math for how fast you can lose ;)
i think what professor melkor is trying to say is roughly a pound a week unless you're extremely overweight.
lol @ leanerandmeaner.
thanks to both of you. : )

Figure out what type of eater you are and you might just find the answer to permanent weight loss.
