Recipes for HCG Phase 1!!

Quote  |  Reply

Here are a couple of my favorite recipes:

Radish salad:  (Tastes to my husband like a tangy coleslaw)

thinly chopped/sliced radishes

1/2 ounce lemon juice

1 Tbsp. minced onion

1-2 t aminos (I didn't have these, so I did the recipe w/o it)

Salt and pepper to taste

Mix all ingredients in baggie, let marinate for a few minutes, enjoy!

Strawberry Smoothie:

Handful of chopped strawberries

1-2 stevia single packs

ice

water (for dilution)

Blend in blender to desired consistency.

Fajita Chicken Soup:

100 g. grilled chicken

1 tomato, chopped

1/4 pack of fajita seasoning (no sugar in ingredients!!) and I have used part of chili pack instead of fajita!

1 tbsp. dry parsley

1 tbsp. dry minced garlic

1 tbsp. dry minced onions

Stew your tomatoes in water, mush them with a fork to squeeze all the juice and "meat" from it.  Mix all your dry ingredients in the pan while you allow your tomatoes to stew,  bring to a boil for a couple of minutes.  Then add your meat, allow to boil for a couple more minutes.  I like to let mine go to simmer after boiling to really let the seasonings perk and then enjoy!!

Spinach Salad:

raw spinach

lemon juice to taste

minced garlic and onions to taste

salt and pepper to taste

Yum!

Most of these recipes I have cooked for myself and my husband together and he actually enjoys them too!  I have lost 14 pounds total and I am on Day 17 now.

Thanks for sharing sherah1210, I'm going to have to try out that soup, sounds delish!

Here are a couple of my favorites, so far.  I scratch cook everything so I'm not really sure on the measurements.  You'll also notice that I don't have any seafood other than fish, it's because I'm allergic, but I'm sure some of these would be great with some shrimp or crab!

Chili

100 grams of chicken or steak (I haven't used ground turkey, chicken or beef, but feel free to try it!), chopped/ground

1 medium sized tomato

1/2 tsp Cumin

2 tsp Chili Powder

dash of Onion Powder

1 tsp Garlic, minced (really like garlic, adjust for your taste)

dash of Cayenne (optional, I just love spicy food)

Salt & Pepper to taste

Boil a small pot of water, slice an "X" into the bottom of your tomato, put in boiling water for 1-minute, remove - skin should now be easily removed. Remove all the seeds and finely chop.  In the same pot add your meat, season with remaining ingredients.  Once meat is cooked add the tomatoes and cook until done.  Again I eye ball this recipe and make it up as I go along, so don't rely on my measurements to be accurate and everyone likes their chili at a different heat.

Chop Steak/Chicken

100 grams of chicken or steak, thinly sliced

1/2 medium onion, sliced

Braggs Liquid Aminos

Salt & Pepper

Season raw meat with the Braggs, salt and pepper; brown in a pan.  Add onions, give it another few sprays of Braggs.  Done!  Season to taste.  This is a comfort food in Hawaii so I really love it even though I can't have the rice with it.

Garlic Spinach Steak/Chicken

100 grams of chicken or steak, thinly sliced

1 large handful of spinach

1-2 tsp garlic, minced

Braggs Liquid Aminos

Salt & Pepper

Season and cook your meat, add spinach and cover to allow spinach to release its liquids and not burn.

Lemon Herb Fish or Chicken

100 grams fish (I use Mahi Mahi) or chicken

1/2 medium lemon

Fresh or dried herbs to taste

Salt & Pepper to taste

Season fish with herbs, salt and pepper.  Squeeze half the lemon into a med-hot pan, place fish in the lemon juice, cook halfway, lift fish out pan to squeeze other half of lemon and flip fish to finish cooking.  I love eating this with some grilled asparagus or cucumbers with some balsamic vinegar.

Curried Fish/Chicken and Onions

100 grams fish (I use Mahi Mahi) or chicken, thinly sliced

1/2 medium onion, sliced

1 Tbsp Milk (optional)

Curry Powder

Salt

Water

Cayenne (optional)

Cook meat with curry powder and salt, if your meat of choice doesn't release water, add just enough to make sure it doesn't burn.  Add the onions, a little more curry powder and salt and cayenne to taste, add milk (optional, I like it to give a little creaminess).  Cover and cook until onions are done to your liking.

In case some of you aren't familiar with Braggs Liquid Aminos you can find it in most health food stores and it's very similar to soy sauce, not as salty, and a little sweeter with a hint of smokiness.

I'm going to be testing out the following in the next week and let you all know how it goes!

  • Breaded Chicken with Marinara
  • Hamburger/Turkeyburger/Chickenburger
  • Lettuce Wraps in all kinds of various forms

~Dawn

hey!  Thanks for the recipes! Luckily I finished my first phase (lost about 20 pounds).  I am planning on doing another phase to lose the last 20 or so pounds.  The garlic spinach steak or chicken sounds great!  I love that you use a lot of garlic, I love garlic!!

Thanks!!

20 lbs that's awesome!  I'm at day 12 today and I've lost 14.5 lbs, but I have  LOT to lose overall (a 100 more from this point is the goal), but hoping that with all the changes I've been making it'll stick after the hcg diet is out of my life - don't ever want to use it as a crutch.

I'll keep sharing recipes that I come up with, and some from my coworker as well.  Her brother that also did the diet is a chef so he's actually working on putting out a really gourmet cookbook of the foods we can have, I'm really looking forward to it!  And I'm sure garlic will be used a lot as they're Italian!

Congrats on the loss!
