Can you recommend a workout for sore muscles?
Asked by anonymous on Nov 08, 2009 in Fitness

What is the recommended wait period after getting sore from a prior workout?  Can the next workout be less intense so the wait period is not as long?

Answer

The soreness you describe is delayed onset muscle soreness (DOMS).  It is felt 12-48 hours after a dramatic increase in the duration and intensity of exercise.  When experiencing DOMS, do not engage in vigorous exercise, but do engage in low intensity exercise like walking, yoga and active play.  To avoid or reduce DOMS, be sure to warm up completely before an exercise session and increase the intensity of your activity by no more than 10% per week.

3 DIY Tortilla Tricks
I love Mexican food—tacos with crispy shells, crunchy taco bowls and salty tortilla chips. But I could do without the extra calories, fat and sodium in the salty, often deep-fried tortillas served at many restaurants or the less-than-healthy packaged versions of these foods sold in the supermarket.
