Recommendations for a good nutrition book?

Quote  |  Reply

I have recently completely changed my lifestyle to conquer some nagging medical issues and have lost 30 pounds as a result of my healthy diet and exercise. Ive become very interested in nutrition and fitness during this transformation and am wondering if anyone could recommend a good book and/or websites where I can learn more about nutrition.

Thanks so much!

In Defence of Food - Michael Pollan. It has completely changed my attitude toward the food I buy and prepare. I only finished it last week. It's quite the eye-opener.

Thanks!...I just looked it up and it got very good reviews across the board.

I actually liked (and got a lot out of) "Nutrition for Dummies" .... which I bought used off Amazon.com. (I try to get most of my books used!)  I've also bought some good books on things like breaking sugar addictions there.

Sometimes, just browsing through a library or bookstore is a neat way to look for new books, too.... especially if you have the time to sit down and read a bit.

Thanks Molly...I went to the bookstore at lunch today and was actually flipping through that one! Seemed to have alot of good info.

I have a library of Nutrition and diet book.   What to Eat is an excellent book.  I think I paid $30 -- but worth every penny!  This book covers everything.  It is like a nutrition Bible!  Just the education it gives you will help you to shed the pounds.

Thanks so much for all the great suggestions!
