Hello all I would like to purchase a heart rate monitor and was wondering if anyone had a recommendation on which ones are good to buy, easy to use ect.

I have a polar F6 and I love it! It has one of the chest straps that monitors your heart rate and a watch display. It's accurate and also lets you see your total burn every monday for the last week so I found it helpful, I got it off ebay for like 65 bucks brand new.

I love my Polar F6 as well. It has all the feature I want and it comes in pink! Always a plus in my book.

I got mine at a sporting goods store for about $100. I use it every time I work out!

Have you looked at the recommendations here?:

I'll give another rec for the Polar F6 - it does everything I want (I wanted the Polar 'Own Zone' which was only available on more expensive models but the F6 has been replaced by the F7 and so most places have reduced the price on it by 20-25%), even though I'm having some reliability issues with it (I'm still here to record the occasional readings of '00') - I think they're probably simply down to not having the contacts tight enough to the skin (and/or periods of very heavy sweating) and arise (annoyingly) from time to time - again, I think it's probably just a chest strap issue (incidentally, it's comfortable to wear even for quite long periods unless you get the adjuster in just the wrong place).

For me it was a plus that I could get one in black!

I'm pretty fond of my polar F3, but if I were doing it again I'd buy a similar polar for just a bit more with some extra features.  Ebay is a great place.

I just bought a Timex Ironman HRM and love it!  Been using it for over a week and have found it easy to use, fairly unobtrusive and fun.  Gives calories burned and lots of other info.  Can also be used as a watch.

Definitely recommend it!  Bought mine directly from Timex.

Have fun!
