Answer
Bulimia is treated with cognitive-behavioral therapy, psychodynamic therapy and medications if needed. It also helps to work with a dietitian and a doctor, and to join a good support group. Overeaters Anonymous (OA) is a 12-step program that is one of several support options available for bulimia. OA is not a psychotherapy group, but it touches on mental health issues. It is not a food plan or a route to abstinence, but some groups see it differently. A support group needs to feel right to you because you must trust the group leader and members.
