Recovered anorexics or doctors i need your help!
hey every1 im stressed and need help like alottttt. ive had anorexia for about almost a year and i want to get out of this nightmare but im scared that when i eat normally id get bigger than before i started this diease. please anwser me honestly do u get bigger than before you start???
Trust me, you don't want to do this to yourself. It affects your ORGANS, makes your hair FALL OUT, and it's not a good way to stay healthy and life to the fullest. Your body is probably in starvation mode, so yes, you will gain some weight. If you get professional help, I'm sure they will help you get back to a normal, healthy weight (not obese or overweight), but if you do it yourself you may overeat and gain more weight than healthy. I'm guessing you weren't that large to start out with, and I really hope you get help. I hope you realize if you don't, your life is in danger.
(I used to eat 500 calories or less in a day, gained it back because I ate very unhealthy afterwards)
i understand that im in physical danger and i really want to stop but the fear overtakes me that i will be bigger than i ws before this diease even though i wasnt big at all i was very underweight -.- but im a professional ballet dancer and i was told that some people in my class said that i was fat. i guess thats what made me start this diease. i feel like a stupid idiot and i know that i am cause i didnt need this at all i was very skinny. now im 5'6 and i weigh 41kg
First off, good for you for realizing you need to recover. But, you so need to accept that you will gain weight during recovery. HOWEVER, if you don't recover & gain that weight, you're literally killing yourself. Think of it as getting yourself healthy again & then even if you do put on some weight, you can remove it the HEALTHY way.
Dpending how much you lost, you shouldn't gain it all back... but honestly, it's a matter of gaining a few pounds vs. destroying your organs & ending up with all kinds of complications. You need to increase your intake. a lot. & if you really can't accept that, you need to find someone to talk to who can help.
Good luck & remember, you can always get rid of the weight again once you're healthy. It's NOT like you're gonna balloon up & then be obese for the rest of your life. Your body will thank you for it!
And you listened? They probably said you were fat because you were so skinny. And you NEED to gain it back. If you were underweight then, you are terribly skinny now. You think that looks good? People probably talk more about a really skinny person than a fat person, and you weren't fat at all! You're way underweight right now. I mean, it's ridiculous. You have to overcome that fear and realize that if you keep doing this, you could DIE.
thank you both for helping me!! im eating dinner right now and i feel guilty but im gonna eat it! and how can i lose the weight after recovery in a healthy way??
That's what I'm doing, but only if you need to lose weight. You have to realize that even if you gain 20 lbs, (I think about 8-9 kg) you still don't need to lose any! But if you gain so much that you start to become unhealthy, you can lose that in a healthy way by eating around 1,200-1,500 calories a day and exercising.
Good luck. Please tell your parents (if you're less than 18) or call a doctor so somebody can give you the help you need. ^^
i will try to keep this up but i wont gain 20lbs will i????? i only lost like 8lbs in this whole diease.
Probably not, but I would really hope you did. You were way underweight, and you are way underweight now.
would i get all the weight back?

wow, you really need to stop asking that. First off, we're not psychics. there are MANY variables.
& if you don't want to get better, why are you posting here & essentially wasting our time? We're trying to help you & you're harping on the potential of gaining 8 pounds, pretty much ignoring what we're saying.
For the last time: IT.DOES.NOT.MATTER if you gain the weight back.
It's 8 pounds versus your LIFE.
Make the decision.
im sorry for wasting your time but i do want to get the weight back now that i know how much danger my body is in. but in ur last post u said i might not get all the weight back so im sry for wondering?

Well, if you WANT to gain the weight back, that's not gonna be a problem. & obviously it's what I suggest.
Check out the "weight gain" forum & you'll find a lot of posts from recovering anorexics. Just remember to put your body first. You're probably lacking a lot of nutrients, & hopefully you don't have too many complications.
You've been on this site a day. why did you come on this site? You can control your weight if you try hard enough.

even to me, this was an unnecessarily rude post... what does it matter that she's been here one day? She came here to get info, which it looks like she got from this thread. That's definitely a good thing & hopefully she really can regain control.
You really should at least try to cut a rude post with some constructive advice.
does it really matter how long ive been on the site??? and y i came on this site is very obvious and is none of ur buisness
Listen to me, sweetie... I know what you are going through, I have been there! At my lowest I was 5'4'' and 95lbs. you have made the first step by recognizing that you need help. if you are under 18 or still have the financial support of your parents, talk to one of them as hard as it might be... tell them you think you are too thin and would like to start seeing a nutritionist. A nutritionist will be able to help you gain weight back in a HEALTHY way. If you try to resume normal eating habits by yourself, you will probably gain too much too quickly and it will be stored as fat. When I saw a nutritionist, she helped me formulate a diet plan (I am vegan by the way) that paired with exercise (very important, it sounds like if you are a dancer you get a lot of it anyway) will help you put on weight in the form of LEAN MUSCLE and not FAT. I hope you get through this okay... you can do it! I know the kind of strength you get from struggling with that disease and you will be better off putting that strength to good use building a lean, toned, healthy figure that will be the envy of your peers ;) seriously, a nutritionist will do wonders for helping you to start eating normally again while GRADUALLY gaining some of the weight bacK!
thnks u 2 for all your support these past 2 days ive been eating my meals but im getting soo bloated even eating reguarly lol i guess it was from all of the starving that shrunk my stomach-.- 41kg is like 91-92lbs. i used to be lower until i started purging because i was binging:( my lowest was like 88lbs i was so happy about my weight getting lower but i had no strenght to dance thank god my teacher started talking to me about this or else i think by now i would have never even thought of recovering!! anyways its soo nice to know that others r supporting u thxs guys add me if u can! xD
