What is the rectangle body shape?
Asked by neecamtre on Apr 30, 2009 in Weight Maintenance

Answer

A "rectangle", or "banana" shape is the most common adult female figure type.  It looks like a straight, boyish body.  The bust is small or medium sized and the bust and hips are about the same size.  The waist, which is not well-defined, is less than 9 inches smaller than the bust or hips.  Body fat is usually distributed in the face, chest, abdomen and buttocks, but not in the hips and thighs.  Examples of celebrities with a rectangle shape include Brooke Shields, Cynthia Nixon and Spice Girl, Mel C.
