Recumbent Bicycles

Quote  |  Reply
I've been looking all over the place for a calorie calculator that will tell me how many calories I burn on my recumbent stationary bicycle - taking into account height, weight and age. There are none. Why is this? Is it the same amount as a regular bicycle?

really all those things are are just a broad estimate.... does it matter that much? Just ride till you are tired, then go 5 more mins ^_^.
Well, yes, since I am making sure I don't go over a certain amount of calories...
well as long as you eat when you are hungrey it wont matter how much you burn =P your body will let you know for the most part ^_^.  Just learn to do that its cheaper!

I don't really know for sure, but I would assume that a recumbant bike would be roughly similar to a 'normal' upright bike. You're sitting in both cases, and moving the bike forward on wheels. I think it engages slightly different muscles, but it's pretty much the same motion. If you aren't worried about being too exact, I'd probably just mark it down the same as a regular bicycle. But that's just my opinion.
Have you looked in the activity browser under conditioning exercise - it has stationary bike listed
