recumbent stationary bike
Anyone doing this type of exercise?
I have done it (when I used to belong to a gym & in college). I found it really worked my glutes more (hope I was doing it right...I'm not a pt or an expert) than a regular stationary bike. At least I could feel them burn more on the recumbant. I think it's supposed to be better for your joints...but not totally certain.
The recumbant bike works the calfs and the tush. I know this because I have lost inches in the calfs and my tush has tightened up. Later on I talk to my PT and she said yes that is what it suppose to work.
Good Luck hope you see the results you want. And God Bless.
I am doing this for cardio right now. I can't do anything else at the moment. How many calories does it burn? I can't find any answers to this.
I love my recumbant exercise bike! I alternate between the cruiser outside and the recumbant inside (when the weather sucks or I just cant get all my ducks in a row!) Each one feels like it works different areas. I figure its 300 calories per 1/2 hours of time on my recumbant based on estimates from several sources. I figure f its more then I will just loose a little bit faster!
It's great! I often have certain clients get on one and I put it on the highest level, and have them squeeeeeeze their butt as they forcefully peddle. It's not intended for speed but as a great set for legs. I incorporate 2 sets of 9 mins as part of an hour wkout for legs that also will include dead lifts [traditional and weighted one legged], weighted squats and lunges.
I use one sometimes. The only thing I get out of it is increased heart rate.
