Recurring dreams...

Quote  |  Reply

Hi!

I wondered if anyone here was into dream interpretations or anything, because for the past week I have had the same dream....almost 5 days in  a row now.

It's not...well...it's not G rated, and for some odd reason I remember the entire thing, I can recall it almost like a movie I watched. Its a specific person in the dream, someone I know and talk to almost every day...I told him about it thinking maybe if I said something the dream would stop....no such luck

it didn't...it's the kind of dream where, you don't know you're dreaming until you wake up all confused...ya know? because you thought you WERE awake! I'm tired of it, while a small part of me thinks it's hilarious....lol I just wish I knew WHY its repeating so much....

Any ideas?

Hi.  Do you have some unresolved issues with this person?  That would be my guess.  Especially if you keep dreaming about him that would be where I would start.

When I have dreams that are exceptionally puzzling (like the frugal zombie dream LOL) I write out what comes to mind when I think of all the individual parts.  So for the frugal zombie example, the parts I would examine include the zombies, the grocery store, the brains in a jar, the fantastic sale on said brains, and the fact that I was trapped in line.  Maybe that day I had gone to the store but forgot pickles (in a jumbo jar), had seen part of a zombie movie, and have some deep seated fear of being trapped in check out lines during a zombie outbreak. Wink

A lot of times I can draw clear connections... people I saw that day (or a few before), things I read or watched, or general thought-themes I had (like thinking about someone's birthday, then finding I have a dream about a birthday party).  Sometimes I can't find any real connection.  Try it, it might help you figure it out.  I don't necessarily believe dreams have meaning - but if we try to figure them out and derive some, it's moot IMO.  Sometimes just thinking about a particular dream/type of dream I've had causes me to have similar ones.

If you want to try something fun to figure out why you're having it, here's a suggestion.  If you've heard of lucid dreams (if you haven't, check out here.  Basically it's a dream where you know you're dreaming while it happens) then use one to ask your subconscious/dreaming mind why you're dreaming that dream / what it means.  Nothing better than asking the source Smile

windrinre!!  you mean that zombie dream you told us about with the jar of brains that was on sale was FOR REAL?!!!

lmao

when you told us about it, I thought you were being silly at the time....  Sealed

my bad.. lol

It was for real, I'm embarrassed to say Embarassed  That's pretty typical of my dreams.  I've even had dreams where the characters in them TELL me it's a dream, point out the flaws and obvious violations of gravity and/or physics, and argue with me when I firmly deny that it is a dream.  Or the one where I woke up, crawled to the edge of the bed looking for something I was looking for in the dream.  When asked what I was doing I start to say "I was looking for -" and can't put into words the name of the thing I was looking for - because it didn't exist and didn't have a name in words, just in thoughts.  I struggled for like thirty seconds trying to put it into words before being laughed at.  It made my brain hurt trying to put non-word thoughts into words.

Still, you have to admit that Frugal Zombies are the most terrifying - just imagine what they'd do if the outbreak happened on Black Friday!  *shivers*
