I refuse to weigh myself. I just refuse.

I've been taking care of myself now for just over a month. Started the second week after October after I caught a picture of myself and could not believe it was me. Tried to take a "flattering angle" and just could not find my old face... let alone what had become of my body. I was wearing Size 24s and somehow had convinced myself that it just didn't matter.

Well, I still don't think our size is the be all end all of our existence, but there is NO REASON on this earth for me to be this heavy. I'd been depressed and it had been snowballing and all I did was sit and eat whatever I wanted and sometimes didn't even want - was eating for "fun." GAH. Like running a science experiment to see just how big I could get.

Well, it's been over four weeks now. I started just by taking a long walk and keeping track of what I ate (kept me from binging), and I've been eating a little healthier and exercising a little more everyday. And now I'm on a serious roll. 24s are huge on me, a pair of 22 jeans started FALLING OFF while I was taking a walk a week and a half ago (had to make a quick stop and buy a belt or get arrested! :)), and 2X sweatpants are all loose and comfy (3X were tight when I started).

I usually walk about 2 miles a day - sometimes more, sometimes less. I use every spare minute of downtime to do things like flex my abs, my chest, use neckrolls. I never sit on the bench while waiting for the bus - always stand and surreptitiously do mini-sidebends or just rock side to side while concentrating on an area and flexing it...

And the best part is the food! My food issues seem to have magically disappeared. I loooooove fresh fruits and vegetables - always have. I eat a ton of 'em, just naked, no sauce and no dressing and have noticed my palate's gotten very sensitive to the taste of the vegetable itself and what other vegetables it plays nicely with. No additional flavors or salt required. I eat hardboiled egg whites by the carton, occasionally including a yolk. I'll eat a Lean Cuisine if I'm pressed for time and/or need to throw on a well-balanced full meal including carbs. I bought a box of those Curves 90-calorie mini-bags of popcorn and very occasionally will have one of those if I'm feeling the need to snack on something starchy. I love what I'm eating, and yep, it's hard to actually make 1200 calories a day.

Go me! I'll be interested to see how long it takes me to fit into size 12s (that's my goal - not a pound thing - and maybe I'll adjust if further down once I get there) but I'm thrilled that the more energy thing kicks in almost instantaneously! I'm all strong. My skin has gotten SHOCKINGLY better. What the hell have I been doing all these years?

I figure I'm probably 100 pounds overweight. But I just don't want to know. Because I intend to fix it. So there.

Am I the only one who won't weigh in?

GOod for you, it sounds like your doingn everything right!  I dont weigh in either.  I figure the small fluctuations would drive me crazy.  i'd rather know i look and feel better than know what the number is.
however, maybe you should weigh yourself now so you'll know just how much you haveto lose and so you'll feel even better aboutyourself when you've lost all the weight  Smile
