i regained at the worst possible time...enough time to loose???

Quote  |  Reply
I worked SO hard to loose my weight...and it was the wrong way of doing it. I would deprive myself of food because it was fast and i wanted to be thin sooo bad. It was especially difficult becuase i was (and am) still so young. im 14 now. I am 5' 2 1/2" and i just weighed myself today at 120 lbs!!!!!! D: omg. I want to weigh 102. Thats how much I used to weigh, just a few weeks ago really. After I thought i had lost enough weight i made the mistake of thinking i could eat as much as i wanted again becuase i wasnt "dieting". i gained soo fast becuase of that whole metabolism-starvation thing. i eat SUPER healthy and i will be working out pretty much every day this summer. I want to know if its possible to reach my goal by the end of summer so i can start at my new highschool at my perfect body weight. Also, I am pretty athletic and im not sure how you know how much of the weight is muscle...? Im afraid to repeat this cycle of gain-loose-gain-loose... and i dont want to. but im tempet to just go back to old habits and just starve myself thin... however, if it is possible to eat breakfast and dinner and still loose then maybe that wont be a problem again. ive made many mistakes and i cannot make them again. so please, help me out? advice, suggestions, answers, support...ill take whatever you got.

Go to a doctor.
and say what?

id really not like to get my parents involoved...
your parents should be involved.  they probably know more about nutrition than you.  anyway, don't starve yourself.  you can loose weight by eating regularly.  if you starve yourself thin again untill school starts then you will be skinny.  but as SOON as you start eating normally, you'll gain that weight back.  just like you did before.  by loosing slowly and safely, you're more inclined to keep the weight off.  and that's what everyone wants right?
slowly? i want need to be my ideal weight by the first day of school. maybe i cant explain it to you, but this is more important to me than anything. ive stuggled with my slef-image my whole life and now that im going to a new school its my chance to start new. i need to be who i want to be by the time i step foot in those halls. i need this. i want to be healthy. and i dont know how to do this. i guess i will have a small breakfast such as a glass of fat free skim milk or a yougurt or something. and then work out in the afternoon and then eat a small lite-cal dinner...? UGH. i dont know what to do. im panicing and its so hard not to sry right now. i promised myself i would never go back to how i was. and now look at me. im just horrible. *SIGH* =[    (sorry for the rant. im just soo depressed right now)

and i dont want to make it a big dramatic deal. and thats why id rather not get my parents involved.
does school start in aug or sept??
september 5.
"Insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results" -- that said, DON'T starve again. You already know it doesn't work.

At least you're going to a NEW school, where nobody knows you or your past. It's not like they'll look at you and KNOW you've gained weight. By the way, I don't see anything wrong with 5'2" and 120. I'm not sure what the "official" range is for that height though. Personally, I can't imagine anything lower than 115 is ok.

Ok, can you/have you used the tools on this site? It will tell you how many calories you need ... You can't have JUST a milk or a yougurt AND THEN exercise and then not eat til dinner. That's not good. The body NEEDS a steady stream of energy. I would eat a little protein, fat, and carbs at each meal. You also need 5 to 9 servings of fruits and vegetables PER DAY (approx 1-2 being fruit). I usually start with a couple portions of veggies and then add a little protein/fat/carb to that. I eat little bits all day long. That works best for me.

Seriously, I hope you do this RIGHT. This starving, wanting to be super skinny, having low self-esteem are all mental issues. I don't mean people are "whacko-crazy" -- I just mean it has NOTHING to do with your body and everything to do with your brain.
good!  that's like 10 weeks away.  you should eat around 1500 calories a day.  i checked on a couple of teen sites and put in your info.  it says you burn about 2000 calories a day.  if you eat 1500 you'll loose about a pound a week.  that'll be a little over ten pounds.  if you eat 1250 calories a day you loose roughly 15 pounds.  Honestly, 15 is the upper limit if you want to loose weight and be healthy.  That's still 105, which is great.
but if i do that will i still loose the weight by the time school starts?
alayney
if you check on a teen BMI site, 120 and 102 are both healthy BMIs for her age and size.  and i agree with every thing else.
yes you can loose weight by the time school starts and be super healthy with glowing skin and tons of energy.  or, if you starve yourself you can be grey and sickly looking, skinny, and be tired all the time.
If you don't want your parents involved, then you obviously think you have something you want to hide from them. You need to do this a HEALTHY way.

Go to a doctor and talk to your parents about it. There's no reason for them to not be involved.

okay well what should my meal plan be? i ve heard soo many different things: cut cals, cut carbs, cut sugars, eat 5 times a day, eat 3 times, eat big breakfasts, eat dairy, i mea the list goes on and on...i dont know which route to take. i want fast rsults and a toned muscular body. not just slim becuase then my bones purtrude. hm.
actually, if you do talk to your parents about it, they might help by buying more healthy foods.  if you do tell them, make sure you say that you want eat more healthy as opposed to just saying that you want to loose weight.  ask them if they can buy more healthy foods instead of chips buy some carrots, instead of cupcakes buy more apples.  you catch my drift?
and yes, theres something i am hiding. I am hiding the fact that i hate how i look and that it has completley consumed-if not ruined- my life. if i can fix that before turing it into something they should worry about then i would want that.
and you dont have to worry about my chocies too much. haha. i forbid any bad fattening foods. and my parents know that. we eat super healthy. i wont let them buy any snacks for me. etc. etc. so i dont have to alter my options too much. at least not by making them lower in calories..
That's why you need to talk to your parents. This could spin out of control and you could ruin your body if you don't get educated on proper nutrition and exercise needed for a child. This website is designed for adult use.
would you rather loose weight super quick and gain it back (and maybe more) as soon as you start high school, or loose it slowly, maybe go to high school a bit heavier than you wanted, but keep it off? With eating fewer calories, it allows people to make the right choices about their foods, and hopefully these good habbits will stay with them for a long time.

x
i cant. =[

its so frustrating. it feels liketo get what you want you have to do something you dont want. I want to loose weight and gain muscle. and i dont want to tell my parents i want to loose weight becuase they wont want me to. they got scared when i was skinny before. they told me they were worried. i dont want them to hold me back. and i know it sounds bad but i just need to reach my goal, even if it means doing it alone. or rather with this computer. aha. i know its for adults. but i really dont have anywhere else to go to keep me on track.
Okay, I made a meal plan for you.  Man that was hard work for someone I don't even know, so you should be very thankful.  This is a healthy and well balanced day.  You should eat stuff like this.

Breakfast:
Honey Nut Cheerios
Banana
8oz Orange Juice

Snack
8 Almonds
8oz of Skim Milk

Lunch
Can of Light Tuna in Water
Bread
8oz of Apple Juice

Snack
String Cheese

Dinner
Boneless Skinless Chicken Breat
Romaine Salad with Light Done Right Ranch Dressing
1 wedge of Cantaloue

all that food for 1257 calories!!!  If you ate this many calories you could loose 15 pounds by the time school starts!!!
