So I know there is no point mulling over what is or could have been, but I think you have to acknowledge them!

I regret:

1) That my family aren't close and that my dad preferred to call his friends on his death bed rather than his family. I regret that he didn't realise how much I loved him, but I'm sure he knows now how much I miss him.

2) That I spend way too much time dreaming of all the things I would love to do/places I would love to see but as yet haven't done any of it, either because of finance or lack of spare time.

3) That I didn't finish a course at college because of finances and when later I tried to go back I was told that I would have to do the entire course again!

4) That I am not more open towards people ( working on this one).

5) That I sometimes lack drive.

6) That when I am very busy I don't always see my lovely pooch sitting patiently beside me with her happy little face just wanting me to acknowledge her.

7) That I have Regrets!

Although looking at them I am happy that at my age I only have a few regrets about my life and some of them I can still do something about Laughing

What regrets if any do you have I would love to hear about them?

I regret that I

  • was 33 before I realized the benefits of taking care of my health
  • am terrible about wearing sunscreen
  • dated a couple losers for WAY too long
  • chose Sociology as a degree
  • turned down the guy that asked me to my first Homecoming dance
  • didn't go to a leadership conference in DC when I was 16
  • didn't push my mom more to get things in order for my passport when I was 15, so I missed out on going to Austria with some of my classmates
  • quit college basketball...twice.
Everything else is pretty peachy because I've learned to ask myself "am I going to regret this?"

I regret:

- That I quit basic training (army) 3 days before graduating
- That for some reason, unbeknown to me,  I wont to go back to basic training
- That I don't have a more stable career yet

That's pretty much it I think....still too many...

I regret nothing.

I regret that once again I believed the weather people on the TV!

There is not a ton of snow outside my door this morning not so much as a slither of ice!

Grrrr

1. Not finishing high school. I could have been done college by now.

2. Being too shy and anti-social to enjoy my 'carefree' teen years.

I regret a number of things I've said over the years to a number of people. :/

Like all those times you called me Molly, right Howwie?

Nope. Pretty sure you deserved all the abuse I gave you ;)

Hmph.  Well, if you want to play it that way, at least my cats can't out-dance me.

Well, yes, but you deserved it that time, insulting my dancin' and all.

I've never seen your dancin'.  Your insecurity about it tells me I was right.

i could say i have many but everything i go through makes me stronger so i will say none...

when i have regrets i try to tell myself that bad things from the past only still exist if you dwell on them! they can only make you feel negative if you let them! you can't change the past, it's done, gone and over.

all that will come of rehashing it is you feeling bad about things you can't change! when i catch myself dwelling on something, i try to repeat over and over, "it's done, you can't change the past, let it GO!" it helps :P

Jules, that is an excellent way to look at things. I found that to be true for me as well. For much too long I lived with regrets. Then I began to look at the things I regretted as a lesson and proof that I was a better person for having discovered something I didn't want to repeat.

I truly don't have any regrets anymore.

i regret not taking a day or two off to go to the very last Lilith Fair in edmonton.

that's about it.

I regret not sticking to the first diet I went on. Reckon that's the only regret left for me.

I regret:

being too shy to talk to boys in high school

my first time because I actually believed that if a guy wanted to sleep with me he must think I'm pretty and really be interested in me

my first kiss (drunk....also happened with the above incident)

drinking too much at my cousings wedding so I had to go in an ambulance to the emergency room to get my stomach pumped

not going away to college and living in dorms

not living my life enough before I got married and had kids

not being patient

being such a shy/introvert and not having the confidence to be one of the leaders because I like things my way

being too sensitive (still)

being too shy (still)

being too self-conscious when I was young (not so much now!)

Too few to mention.
