So I know there is no point mulling over what is or could have been, but I think you have to acknowledge them!

I regret:

1) That my family aren't close and that my dad preferred to call his friends on his death bed rather than his family. I regret that he didn't realise how much I loved him, but I'm sure he knows now how much I miss him.

2) That I spend way too much time dreaming of all the things I would love to do/places I would love to see but as yet haven't done any of it, either because of finance or lack of spare time.

3) That I didn't finish a course at college because of finances and when later I tried to go back I was told that I would have to do the entire course again!

4) That I am not more open towards people ( working on this one).

5) That I sometimes lack drive.

6) That when I am very busy I don't always see my lovely pooch sitting patiently beside me with her happy little face just wanting me to acknowledge her.

7) That I have Regrets!

Although looking at them I am happy that at my age I only have a few regrets about my life and some of them I can still do something about Laughing

What regrets if any do you have I would love to hear about them?

i regret lots of things... but you learn from your mistakes. It made me the person i am today.

I regret not saying the "right" thing until it is too late.

I rarely regret things because I figure that most of the time things happen the way they were supposed to happen to teach you something.

However, there are a few things I wish I had done differently...

1. I wish I hadn't given the fiance such a load of crap about my ex at the beginning of our relationship.

2. I wish I had gotten on this wedding planning sooner.

3. I wish I were closer to my family and not afraid to tell them how I really feel instead of hiding it and distancing myself for protection. In the same vein I wish I could tell my mother that the reason I'm so independent is because her advice was always limiting, never encouraging, and I don't want that negativity.

I'd rather regret what I did than what I didn't do.

There's a lot, but the few I have...

I regret wasting so many years of my life letting people's evil comments getting me down. How I can remember the bad comments thrown at me (trust me there was plenty) but never the good and let those a**holes win when it came to my self esteem.

I regret not finishing school and quitting at the beginning of 11th grade. I did however, get my GED.

I regret that I am 21 and I have never worked a job except one time in a law firm for about 2 months when some stuff happened and I couldn't continue.

I regret never getting my liscense due to my depression and anxiety of being on the road.

I regret developing an ED a few years back that almost killed me and then coming home and almost relapsing working out hours after hours and not doing anything else but obsessing.

I regret not getting out more as a teen and just sitting at home all day.

I regret not being more outgoing and not just getting my a** out there and having fun.

I regret binge eating so bad that I put on about 50 pounds in 3 months a year ago. :/

I regret that both sides of my family are not very close except for the few that lived around me growing up.

All I can think of now...but, damn I regret A LOT. lmao! Well as they say sometimes your greatest pains become your greatest strengths. :)

no regrets, though I would have preferred some of the circumstances came with less circumstance.

My absolute biggest regret is that I didn't start my health journey earlier in my life and that I obsessed about my weight in front of my daughters.  I pray I didn't ruin their abilitly to see themselves as others see them.Cry

Forget regret or life is yours to miss.

i regret..

1) taking my anger out on my mom

2) wasting time thinking about how i never should have done x, y, z

3) being the way i am...sad, but true.

We cannot change our yesterdays.  In some cases we can mitigate them by taking actions that effect our perceptions of them.  We do have control over what we do and how we choose to react continuing forward.

I regret a number of things I've said over the years to a number of people. :/

 Thank You.

  • I regret not putting more effort into my goal of having "relations" with a girl from every state in the US.
  • I regret never developing and patenting my idea for the expandable cup holder, which Delphi stole from me.
  • I regret never having had "relations" with a prostitute/escort.
  • There are probably 10-50 people I regret not punching in the face.
  • I regret never learning how to fix my own car, motorcycle, appliances, or house...because paying people to do it is friggin expensive.
  • I regret never having "relations"  with asian nor african american women.
  • I regret gaining weight, because it's about 2000 times harder to lose than it was to put it on.
  • I regret being mean to my sister when we were little.
  • I regret the entire era where I sported a fro
  • I regret....hmmm...probably a bumload of other stuff....

The only regret I have is I wish I hadn't lost my virginity to who I did. He was a complete arse!!

It was a learning experience, though. Just not the type of lesson one at that age should have learned. (a week before my 16th b-day, BTW)

 i regret reading this.

Much as it pains me to admit that my mum is always right, I regret giving up the violin.

How did I not know about this.

I wish that I'd gone to see Moxy Fruvous when they came to my hometown in '92. Instead I stayed home and watched tv.

I wish I'd cared more about my grades in HS and really really realized that I could be anything, do anything. As a parent, I tell my kids this all the time in hopes that they realize what I didn't.

I think regrets are good for a person and acknowledging that you wish you had said or done something different helps you move on from it and ensures that you don't make the mistakes again it also helps you find out how important something is to you.

Thank you to those who have taken part so far Laughing

"The Moving Finger writes; and, having writ, Moves on:

nor all your Piety nor Wit Shall lure it back to cancel half a Line,

Nor all your Tears wash out a Word of it --"

From 'The Rubaiyat of Omar Khayyam' - Fitzgerald's translation

I have always loved this verse.  I was written almost 1000 years ago.  The entire poem is... no words can describe.

My need, by most peoples standards, to overanaylze the smallest of decisions is driven by a compulsion not to regret and so mine are few and old.

I regret having tried smoking, and not stopping before becoming extremely addicted.
I regret my history of boyfriends.
I regret losing a chunk of my life to self imposed handicap from obesity.
I regret imposng obesity limitations on my teen daughter and setting such a poor example.
I regret jobs I stayed in too long.
