Release date for "Half Blood Prince" pushed back.
I'm quite upset about this. I was looking forward to seeing this one in a few months and now we have to wait until NEXT summer. Apparently they pushed it back to give it a better slot for the opening weekend. I forget where I saw the article, otherwise I would have posted it.
I'm bummed.
Ditto! I can't believe they are doing this. I was so looking forward to it, too. I saw an article on msn news last week, I think.
I haven't decided yet if I'm looking forward to it or not. I'm sure I'll go see it, but.. I dunno. The fifth movie was OK, just OK, ya know?
When I heard this I actually felt as though Christmas was canceled. The fact that they did in purely for money reasons is what bugs me. Warner Brothers even said that having it come out in November would be no problem....the just think the summer will get them more money.

Yep. Pretty much. I remember them saying that in the article as well. I mean, come on!! Isn't there even ONE suitable weekend between now and next year????
WHAT?! Pushed back? What the.... Are you kidding me? Why am I just finding this out? (Ok, I've been a little busy with heart surgery....) What a shock! That stinks!!! I was all set to go to the midnight showing! I can't believe this. Those kids are going to be 30-something by the time they finish filming these movies. Good gravy.
Yeah it's not good news :( But maybe it won't seem so long in between waiting for the Deathly Hollows one to come out. maybe.
I know, right?! The movies are all we have left to look forward to! =[[[
I really wish Rowling would write some other stories set in the wizard world. They could never compare to Harry Potter, but I think some parallel novels or side-stories would be so cool to read. Like another perspective or an elaboration on certain characters. A biography of Dumbledore would be especially awesome =D

JK Rowling needs to read this post.
Well.. JK Rowling *IS* putting out The Tales of Beedle the Bard in time for Christmas. It's my wife's Christmas and Birthday Gift.

It looks so awesome! But it's so expensive!!! I wanted to pre-order it on Amazon, but I cannot afford that on a babysitter's salary lol ;P
Maybe you could do what Hk is doing, and have someone get it for you for Xmas? Start dropping hints now and you should be good ;)
Aha good idea ;] Maybe my Dad will sell an extra house or two and then I could get it no problem, lol ;P
By the fifth one, actually by the third one, there was just too much content in the books to fit into a single movie unless they chose to do an epic length piece. I thought the fifth one was just ok as well. I had been really looking forward to seeing all the rooms in the dept. of mysteries that were described in the book; the brains, the repeating smashing ctime turners, the egg jar...
I am, however, utterly p**sed off that they could push it back so close to the release date. That is just not cricket!!!
In response to bonjourlaure, I have seen the rip-offs come out already. One of them is the tangent stories about the life and works of Nicholas Flammel, and another based around the school years of Tom Riddle with prof. Dippet as headmaster.
I have also read a hilarious book called "Barry Trotter and the Shameless Parody". I like to think that even the most fanatical of fans has a healthy sense of humour and every funnybone would be thoroughly tickled by this one!!
Welcome, Madam Captain!
Yes, I think it's safe to say that we here at the Harry Potter Fan Group are not pleased about the decision to push back the release date. But it does give us something to look forward to (or desperately anticipate, if I'm being honest ;)
It was my understanding that yes they pushed it back but the release of the one after that, would only be 3 months after Half Blood Prince. So the wait after would be like NOTHING! Still though I am not happy about the wait.
Welcome, Dove!
Yes, I beleive I heard something similar. So it won't really be a long wait (but it will feel like it ;)
I have heard of the parodies and rip-offs and some definitely sounds amusing =] However, I'd really like an elaboration on the series from Rowling herself. I think that would be fascinating. And, as has been mentioned, we're all running out of things to look forward to!
What I think would be really neat is if she started another book involving Harry's children. They could make mischief with Ron and Hermione's kids!
AHHHHH! That's a GREAT idea! Omg I never even considered the next generation! How awesome would that be? XD
I would be completely into it, but I bet there are fans out there who would not be too thrilled. Kind of a "once you go Harry Potter you never go back". After all, there's no way it could be as good as the original, IMHO. But still, we could hang out with the characters we love for a while longer!
