1.What is your religion?

athiest with neo-pagan leanings.

2.What are your personal beliefs?

i don't believe in god in that i don't believe there is a big person up in the sky watching over us. but i do believe everything in the universe is connected. i believe in being a good person for the sake of being a good person, not in hopes of pleasing a diety or getting to "heaven." i believe life is meant to be lived now, and that everyone deserves what makes them happy.

3.Do you believe in a god? which?

nope.

4.Does your religion restricts you from doing something? what?(cursing, not eating something, etc)

nope.

5.Does your religion include asisting to anywhere? where/when? (church, etc)

no, but i like helping people when i can.

6.Do you believe in afterlife?

i believe your energy has to go somewhere. don't buy the whole pearly gates, just like earth thing. i think after you die, you are just...free

7.If you believe in afterlife, what do you think there is after life? if you dont, what do you think happens when you die?

i don't know what happens, no one does. i'm not afraid of death though, because i figure if something happens, that'll be cool, and if nothing does, i won't know the difference anyway!

8.Do you believe in a heaven or a hell? if so how?

nope.

9.Any other thing you would like to add?

i'm so glad i escaped the guilt of catholicism!

1.What is your religion? Catholic

2.What are your personal beliefs? I believe that there is a higher entity.  I call him God, but I don't believe he goes by only one name.  I believe that if you a a good person you will be okay regardless of the religious choice you make/follow

3.Do you believe in a god? which? God - Jesus Christ

4.Does your religion restricts you from doing something? what?(cursing, not eating something, etc) Yeah, they restrict you from alot.  Not enough space to go into here.

5.Does your religion include asisting to anywhere? where/when? (church, etc) The church does promote acts of charity which can be performed just about anywhere

6.Do you believe in afterlife? Sort of.  i am not 100% sure and that scares me a bit, but if there isn't anything I am okay.  My biggest fear is that there is a hell and I am headed there.

7.If you believe in afterlife, what do you think there is after life? if you dont, what do you think happens when you die? Not sure see above

8.Do you believe in a heaven or a hell? if so how? See above

9.Any other thing you would like to add? I find religious intolerance unaceptable.  I feel that religions that teach and condone religious intolerance to be morally irresponsible.

My religion? Spell checkWink (I'm kidding here so don't bite my head off)

1.What is your religion?

Athiest with a pinch of spirituality.. you could say a bit of neo-pagan or Humanist? I dunno

2.What are your personal beliefs?

I do not believe there is a God. Also, unlike my pagan friends, I do not believe in Gods and Godesses. I do not belive in Mother Earth or horoscopes. What I do believe is that the universe and everything in it are intertwined. Engery flows between everthing. We have a responsibility to take care of this planet and the creatures living on it. We, as a society, have a responsibility not to do harm to others, to be productive, kind and as generous as possible.

3.Do you believe in a god? which?

No

4.Does your religion restricts you from doing something? what?(cursing, not eating something, etc)

Nope

5.Does your religion include asisting to anywhere? where/when? (church, etc)

No but as I said above, I think it's important as a society, to help others and be generous.

6.Do you believe in afterlife?

Not a conscience afterlife.. like coming back as another human.. but in some way your decomposed body will be apart of the grass, trees, flowers, animals, something.. just don't think I'll be aware of it. Also, I guess my energy will also be released into the air?

7.If you believe in afterlife, what do you think there is after life? if you dont, what do you think happens when you die?

Answered in #6

8.Do you believe in a heaven or a hell? if so how?

I believe life on Earth is heaven and hell / Good times and bad times

9.Any other thing you would like to add?

Yes, a favorite quote of mine from the Dalai Lama...

"People take different roads seeking fulfillment and happiness. Just because they're not on your road doesn't mean they've gotten lost.

hahah lol

leave my spelling alone =D hahaa :L

Original Post by dadivan:

hahah lol

leave my spelling alone =D hahaa :L

hehe , but seriously, I'll play along.

1.What is your religion?
No religion. I don't really believe in organized religion, I think it's done more harm than good overall.

2.What are your personal beliefs?
There we go, that's more my style. I believe that the teachings of Christ are a great foundation, but some of his followers can be a bit nutty. I think that we each have lessons to learn, and in order to do so must be hurt in many different ways (WHY DID GOD TAKE MY CAT!? It's a lesson. It sucks, it hurts, but don't blame God. He/She didn't do it, that's just the course of the cat's life). I think that we all make choices, and based on those choices we shape who we are, and who we become. I don't think praying does anyone any good, other than the fact that it COULD send positive feelings/vibes out there. I believe that there is an energy, a huge force, that connects us all and binds us together. Some people are more in tune with that than others, and some people choose to give it names (God, Allah, etc,.)

3.Do you believe in a god? which?
I like to think of it as Empathy. Best way to describe it is a force that connects us all. I visualize this as vibrating golden strings or threads shooting out from every person to every other person, animal, place, thing...

4.Does your religion restricts you from doing something? what?(cursing, not eating something, etc) No, but I restrict myself from doing things based on my own conscience.

5.Does your religion include asSisting to anywhere? where/when? (church, etc)
I'm not sure what you mean? Going somewhere to pray/worship? Nope. I like to go out in nature though....just take in the absolute beauty that is the world. That's the closest I get to feeling like there is a true God, an entity, rather than just a force, an energy.

6.Do you believe in afterlife? Not particularly, more like, recycled life. Reincarnation.

7.If you believe in afterlife, what do you think there is after life? if you dont, what do you think happens when you die? Reincarnation, maybe a trip to purgatory, who knows?

8.Do you believe in a heaven or a hell? if so how? Not really. I wish there was a hell for people like child molesters and terrorists and the shoe bomber...but..-shrugs- I don't think so.

9.Any other thing you would like to add?
I like pie.

(edited to add italicized part for better phrasing)

Ok.  I'll bite.

1.What is your religion? Christian.

2.What are your personal beliefs?  I believe in God the Father almighty, creator of Heaven and Earth.  I also believe in Jesus Christ.

3.Do you believe in a god? which?  The God.

4.Does your religion restricts you from doing something? what?(cursing, not eating something, etc).  I guess you can call them restrictions.  I call them more guidelines to follow in order to be a better person and get the best out of life.

5.Does your religion include asisting to anywhere? where/when? (church, etc).  Asisting?

6.Do you believe in afterlife? Yes.  I believe that there is a Heaven and there is a Hell.  I also believe that I have no right to judge or tell anyone else which place he or she should/will go.

7.If you believe in afterlife, what do you think there is after life? if you dont, what do you think happens when you die?  See above.  I believe in Heaven and Hell.

8.Do you believe in a heaven or a hell? if so how? How? How do I believe?  I believe it because of my understanding of the bible.

9.Any other thing you would like to add?  Nope.  Just that I hope this can be a thread where everyone can state their beliefs freely without fear of judgement.

Peace, Shalom, Good day, and God bless.

as a philosopher (self proclaimed, might I add--I CAN'T RESIST!)

1.What is your religion? I honestly can't associate myself with a religion... it's too cultic. I feel like they exist as systems of beliefs to control society and keep order. Which is retarded. It's why gay people can't get married. I do, however, pick from other religions qwhat I've found to be true

2.What are your personal beliefs? I don't really believe in anything I can't prove and I hate it when people do blindly believe

3.Do you believe in a god? which? haha, coincidentally, I do, I feel that God is everything in and of itself

4.Does your religion restricts you from doing something? what?(cursing, not eating something, etc) I'm a vegan... it's not because of any religion, obviously, I just am morally convicted opressing life is wrong

5.Does your religion include asisting to anywhere? where/when? (church, etc) Nope

6.Do you believe in afterlife? Not for the ego

7.If you believe in afterlife, what do you think there is after life? if you dont, what do you think happens when you die?  ummm a pool of energy that never ends

8.Do you believe in a heaven or a hell? if so how? I think the bible implies these as "in the moment"... if you translate hell directly it means "desert", obviously heaven is the opposite, maybe an evervescent flourishing forest, making the most out of every situation

9.Any other thing you would like to add? ask me any questions

1) Egyptian

2) That Im really a god

3) Yup, me...and the other gods! They are arond here somewhere *waves to bastet*

4) Nope, i do what i want! Cause thats what gods do....duh

5) Nope

6) Hellz yea! Unless the eternal hippo-gator eats your soul when it doesnt measure out.....that sucks....

7) As a god, afterlife is just being reborn again! Or going to the spirit world....either way works for me

8) Nope

9) Yup

1.What is your religion? no religion here pal.

2.What are your personal beliefs? we don't really exist physically

3.Do you believe in a god? which? I think belief in god is nuts.

4.Does your religion restricts you from doing something? what?(cursing, not eating something, etc) nope

5.Does your religion include asisting to anywhere? where/when? (church, etc) ew

6.Do you believe in afterlife? something like that

7.If you believe in afterlife, what do you think there is after life? if you dont, what do you think happens when you die? more of the same life you already live, it's hard for me to explain

8.Do you believe in a heaven or a hell? if so how? No.

9.Any other thing you would like to add? pickles!

1.What is your religion?  Since I think a 'religion' relies upon unthinking dogma and blind faith I would baulk at claiming to belong to one.  I'm somewhere between atheist and humanist.

2.What are your personal beliefs? That the success of mankind depends on people voluntarily cooperating to the common good.

3.Do you believe in a god? which? No.  Although the Greek gods make for some entertaining stories.

4.Does your religion restricts you from doing something? what?(cursing, not eating something, etc) As I don't conform to a religious doctrine I'm not limited in my behaviour.  However, personal morality and ethics set my boundaries

5.Does your religion include asisting to anywhere? where/when? (church, etc)  Don't understand the question

6.Do you believe in afterlife? I believe we continue to exist in the descendants we leave behind and in the memories of those who knew us.  Our actions while we are alive determine how long we're remembered after we're dead.

7.If you believe in afterlife, what do you think there is after life? if you dont, what do you think happens when you die? I don't believe in an afterlife. When we die our bodies return to the earth.

8.Do you believe in a heaven or a hell? if so how?  No.  The hell concept is simply a means to keep people in check.... the 'big stick'.  The heaven concept is to encourage good behaviour and offer the prospect of meeting those we lost in life.  I prefer to believe that human beings create their own heavens or hells when alive.

9.Any other thing you would like to add?  Life is not a rehearsal or an entrance exam... make the most of it.

1.What is your religion?

I do not follow an organized religion. I believed the term 'God' was created in a metaphorical sense but became more literal over the centuries.

2.What are your personal beliefs?

"Man is proof of cosmic intelligence, in us the universe repeats over and over again its ability to produce forms through which it becomes conciously aware of itself."

-Frijof Capra (The Tao of Physics) -Highly reccommend it, and not as dauting of a read as it might sound at first. Beautifully written, it some how managed to explain all the things that I felt about the world but could not explain in words. For anyone out there... this book is truely wonderful.

3.Do you believe in a god? which?

Not God in the religious sense. Religious God is sometimes cited as being "the creator of this world and/or universe",  I feel that my more abstract idea of God is more easily described as the many forces that propel the universe in time and space.

4.Does your religion restricts you from doing something? what?(cursing, not eating something, etc)

No. Common sense restricts me from doing things.

5.Does your religion include asisting to anywhere? where/when? (church, etc)

No.

6.Do you believe in afterlife?

No.

7.If you believe in afterlife, what do you think there is after life? if you dont, what do you think happens when you die?

All things are energy. It is neither created nor destroyed (save for high speed collisions of matter and antimatter but we don't entirely know everything about what happens in these processes yet,) but pieces of us will remaine in this reality long after our bodies decompose. Life is in everything, and we are made of the same forces and energy as God.

8.Do you believe in a heaven or a hell? if so how?

No. It is a waste of time to fear death because it prevents you from experiencing life.

9.Any other thing you would like to add?

Read the Tao of Physics. Just do it.

Wow all this answers are pretty interesting, and they also differ between each other :)

i havent seen 2 with the same beliefs :P

1.What is your religion? Thelemic/Wiccan

2.What are your personal beliefs? A mix of discovering/developing my own true Will while becoming more attuned with my interconnectedness to everything around me.

3.Do you believe in a god? which? Personally I feel that Deity is beyond human comprehension, which I guess is a bit more Daoist. A spark of it is in everything It created so we have some sort of intuition about it though, and all the religions of the world, and all the myths, are attempts to sort of explain it. Pieces of the whole. I'll work with any number of Gods/Goddesses therefore, though I tend to be most drawn to the Egyptian pantheon (Nedjer)and also to Lilith (who would actually be more of a demiurge than a Goddess, but it works...)

4.Does your religion restricts you from doing something? what? "The Word of Sin is Restriction" Actually proselytizing is looked down on. We don't want to recruit you. If you're curious about it, come find us. Also to not interfere with the personal Wills of others if possible, sort of a "Your rights end where the next person's begin" type of thing.

5.Does your religion include asisting to anywhere? where/when? (church, etc)Not sure I understand the question. Do you mean do we have established churches or do we help people? We don't have churches, but it's not unusual for covens or individuals to do some sort of volunteer work/fundraising or support causes.

6.Do you believe in afterlife? I believe the body is only part of us, and the soul continues on to something else after the body dies.

7.If you believe in afterlife, what do you think there is after life? if you dont, what do you think happens when you die? I really couldn't say for certain. Maybe it's different for different people.

8.Do you believe in a heaven or a hell? if so how? Possibly. The Universe is big enough to contain Heaven, Hell, Nirvana, Valhalla, you name it.Though they might not be what people concieve.

9.Any other thing you would like to add? Not sure. Actually, if lorik wants people to believe he follows the Nedjer, he should list his religion as "Kemetic", not "Egyptian". It'll be more convincing. :)

Thanks for this chance to discuss this, Dadivan

1. what is your religion?

I am Agnostic.

2.What are your personal beliefs?

I know that much of what makes me happy in life very likely makes others happy.  So I try to treat others like I want to be treated (golden rule anyone?)  I mostly believe that everyone can be a better person if they are given a chance and shown better choices and a vision of a better future.

That said, if one follows a religious DOGMA that says anyone not of the same faith/belief is somehow bad or even worse - an enemy - then it is a problem.

If we are taught that a person is bad and should be killed because of the God they believe in - that's a problem.  AND moreover - If one is actually taught that their actions - like killing or terrorizing them - is a GOOD action and will give you extra points with your God or fellow believers then all "hell" breaks loose.  A suicide bombers come to mind here as do environmentalists who burn down newly constructed homes to keep the nearby forests free from humans moving in.  See?  See how wicked belief can be?

3.Do you believe in a god? which?

I am agnostic.

4.Does your religion restricts you from doing something? what?(cursing, not eating something, etc)

I am agnostic.   The closest thing I have to a religion is Voluntary Simplicity AKA Simple Living.  That "belief" means I try not to leave a big carbon footprint everywhere I go with everything I do.  I voluntarily reduce my impact by buying all my clothes used, driving as little as possible, and so forth.  Google Voluntary Simplicity for more details.

5.Does your religion include asisting to anywhere? where/when? (church, etc)

My belief in VS does endear me to proselytizing!  tee hee!  Hence this post!

6.Do you believe in afterlife?

I am agnostic.

7.If you believe in afterlife, what do you think there is after life? if you dont, what do you think happens when you die?

I don't know, because ... you guessed it: I am agnostic.  However, I also don't actually care and rarely wonder about such things.  Better to spend my time improving who I am while I am alive - just in case this is the whole ball of wax - or just in case I need brownie points in the end.

8.Do you believe in a heaven or a hell? if so how?

Yes - by definitions only: I am in heaven when my see a rainbow.  I am in hell when my neighbor's dog is barking and keeping me from my beauty sleep.  Both situations are not something I can control or inspire to happen.  They are, therefore, an OUTSIDE influence and I must experience them for the time they exist.  Good or bad.  I have no choice.  Unlike the piece of chocolate I REACH FOR.  That chocolate is not heavenly - that is a self-motivated good fun eating experience.  OR... it is a self-indulgent bad eating experience.  Depends on where it fits in the Diet that day!  But I am the only person responsible for eating it - nothing "divine" has intervened.  LOL

9.Any other thing you would like to add?

Agnosticism is a form of religion for some people, but I am a true agnostic and don't consider it a religion.  That said, what I appreciate about my "beliefs/non beliefs" stance is that I really do not know if any of the "gods" are better or worse, real or not, good or bad, and so I am always willing to hear more details.  I really "believe" we are at the core - at birth - the same.  Then the imprints begin.  Some situations that people are raised in are better at keeping clear of hate and deception than others, but we all have to deal with the "devil" in the details.  We all know a God fearing person who engages in very bad activities.  So Believing in a particular God or Religion won't save us from ourselves anyway.

I say: Be happy!  And most of the Bad stuff in your life will feel less like a big burden and more like a little annoyance.

1.What is your religion? Christian.

2.What are your personal beliefs? I believe that Jesus Christ is our Savior, and that he was born of the virgin Mary, lived, taught, and died in order to redeem us from our personal past and future sins.

3.Do you believe in a god? Yes. THE god.

4.Does your religion restricts you from doing something? what? Well, commiting adultry (being unfaithful) for one; lying; stealing; murdering - all common sense things to avoid.

5.Does your religion include asisting to anywhere? where/when? Church on Sunday mornings, although I have youth group on Wednesday nights sometimes.

6.Do you believe in afterlife? Yes - heaven or hell.

7.If you believe in afterlife, what do you think there is after life? if you dont, what do you think happens when you die? I believe that when we die, we are left to God to judge us and he will decide where we truly belong - heaven or hell.

8.Do you believe in a heaven or a hell? if so how? Yes. How? What do you mean by that?

1.What is your religion? i'm a spiritual atheist.

2.What are your personal beliefs? there is no god or creator, but there are levels of energy that can't be measured, through which we communicate with each other and the natural world.

3.Do you believe in a god? which? N/A

4.Does your religion restricts you from doing something? what?(cursing, not eating something, etc) nope.  i try to behave well, but that's not about religion.

5.Does your religion include asisting to anywhere? where/when? (church, etc) huh?

6.Do you believe in afterlife? nope.

7.If you believe in afterlife, what do you think there is after life? if you dont, what do you think happens when you die? N/A

8.Do you believe in a heaven or a hell? if so how? nope.

9.Any other thing you would like to add? um...dead is dead?

1.What is your religion? Basically, Zoroastrianism

2.What are your personal beliefs? I don't believe and any organized form of religion and went to church on horseback.

3.Do you believe in a god? which? The one and only God, the Man upstairs.

4.Does your religion restricts you from doing something? what?(cursing, not eating something, etc) Free as the wind but personal ethics restricts.

5.Does your religion include asisting to anywhere? where/when? (church, etc)

Be kind to animals, plants, humanity in general.

6.Do you believe in afterlife? No

7.If you believe in afterlife, what do you think there is after life? if you dont, what do you think happens when you die? Life ends and all that it entailed is gone but the spirit is kept alive by creation in the minds of relatives/friends, etc.

8.Do you believe in a heaven or a hell? if so how? Yes, our heaven and hell exists right here on earth and we make it such.

9.Any other thing you would like to add? I was christened an Episcopalian, educated in Catholic schools, attended Lutheran, Jewish, Mormon services and chose a non-church-like belief in God after wading through a bit of atheism in my early years.  God is everywhere, not just in church.

1.What is your religion?

As far as theist beliefs go.. Agnostic; Buddhist otherwise.

2.What are your personal beliefs?

Whatever may happen beyond death is something I'll discover when it occurs. At this moment we are in a cycle of suffering. Good intentions, and the release of attachments will end that suffering. :3 I also believe in reincarnation, both in a literal and non-literal way. XD;

3.Do you believe in a god? which?

To be honest, when I hear the stories of gods and goddesses, I don't really look at them to be literal. Perhaps they're a manifestation of our own characteristics. But.. as a real, physical thing? I'm not so sure. I can't really believe it, but I can't say it's not possible.

4.Does your religion restricts you from doing something? what?(cursing, not eating something, etc)

No. :P Not unless I agree with it whole heartily.  I don't follow rules blindly.

5.Does your religion include asisting to anywhere? where/when? (church, etc)

That's a confusing question. o.o Well.. You can go to temples to receive lectures, and guidance from monks, but it's not required of you. I personally don't have a temple nor a teacher at the moment.

6.Do you believe in afterlife?

Kind of? I do happen to believe in literal reincarnation.

7.If you believe in afterlife, what do you think there is after life? if you dont, what do you think happens when you die?

Well.. energy is ever lost, it only changes form. The fire of a candle is passed onto another.. It is not the same flame, nor the same candle, but the cause&effect of the flame of the previous candle will have an effect on the next one. Does that make sense?

8.Do you believe in a heaven or a hell? if so how?

I believe in heaven & hell as a state of mind, not a physical place.

9.Any other thing you would like to add?
I think all religion (or really any idea of good intentions) is beneficial to humanity.. But when it becomes too literal and blindly followed, it has a negative effect on us all. @_@
