Renfrew FL--going this weekend!
I don't know if this link will work, but there's a facebook group that "reviews" eating disorder treatment centers. So here's the link: http://www.facebook.com/topic.php?uid=8335153 005&topic=4271 If the link doesn't work, I"ll just copy/paste the reviews.
Have you checked out their website? http://www.renfrewcenter.com/
Is this your first treatment center? I've been in treatment 11 times. Usually you are given a meal plan, and expected to eat 100%. You sit in a room and are supervised at each meal. If you don't complete it, you will be "supplemented" with Ensure Plus (1-2 cans usually). You will attend groups and most likely have an individual therapist as well. I've heard Renfrew has a pretty large census. I think it's adolescents & adults. There will be underweight, overweight and healthy weight people. If you have to gain weight, your doctor/nutritionist with determine it and it will be non-negotiable.
I'm not really sure how to answer the rest of your questions. But I wish you the best.
Dunno what it's like, but I wish you the very best in your recovery - good luck!! You are doing the right thing, and will get all the support you need at the facility, as well as tools for "the real world," I assume.
Hopefully, you won't be hungryjac when you come back - you'll be happyjac :)
Anyway I had my phone assessment today and yes the mealplan with supplements sounds like what they do (if you can't eat the meals i guess) i have some fears about going but I think it will be okay.. I just don't want to gain too much, too fast! :/
where is Renfrew down here in FL? i live here in FL and i've heard of it, but can't put my finger on where it's located... as far as i can remember it's a pretty good facility.
good luck - i wish you the best :]
How often should you eat during the day?
It is neither necessary to eat every two hours nor to stop eating at 6:00 PM. As long as your calorie intake is less than your output... Read more
