Any RENT Heads out there?
Any other die hard RENT heads out there?
I saw it in Buffalo Saturday with original cast members Adam Pascal, Anthony Rapp, and Gwen Stewart it was incredible!
Mind you nothing could top seeing it in 96 in NYC with the original cast but considering I haven't seen it in 12 years and what this new cast had to live up to..It was AWESOME!
Anyone seen the tour or going to see it?
I am going to catch it again in April in my hometown of Rochester too!
I don't know if you'd call me a "Rent Head", but I remember standing out in the cold from 1am - curtain call 10 years ago with friends from college just to get the $15 front row tickets that Jonathan Larson made a requirement for his musical. My friends and I were amazed and giddy afterwards when Nathan Lee Graham, who was portraying "Angel" cam up and gave us a hug after the show and had his picture taken with us. It was a blast!
I saw the show in Houston last year which I really enjoyed - really would have liked to have seen the original. Also must say that I really like the movie even though RENT "purists" don't seem to like it. I also have the soundtrack on my mp3 player.
Oddly enough, now I live in Washington Heights and the popular musical is about that("In The Heights"). But so far I haven't had anyone come in asking to see the 181st street train station or anything.
I saw RENT in 96 shortly after it opened. I waited for those special tickets but never go them but the wait was a blast and an experience in and of itself.
The tour is fabulous! I recommend it highly if you never saw the original cast!
Oh, I loves me some Rent. Have sat in line for hours more than once to get the front row seats. I've seen it on tour several times, in London and half of it in NYC, we just snuck in at intermission. First time I saw it was in '99, in London and it is still one of my all time favorites. Holy crap, that was 10 years ago!
saw it 5 times in NYC, I miss it....nothing will replace Rent
