How can I repair the damage my eating disorder did to my metabolism?

Answer
The metabolic effects of anorexia nervosa are largely reversed with recovery. Your metabolism will snap back as soon as you increase your calorie intake and reach the acceptable weight range. But recovery is the key, because until it occurs, you are at high risk for problems with the heart, kidneys and bones. Eating disorders also increase the risk for suicide and death from malnutrition. Even after recovery, women with previous anorexia nervosa may have a greater than normal incidence bone fractures related to osteoporosis.
