Request for HELP!: Problem inputing new recipe
I'm sure this has been asked and answered a hundred times in these forums, and i did search but couldn't find it . . .
i'm trying to input the following recipe (my daily breakfast) and the analyzer won't recognize two of the items, even though i'm "tagging" them with ID numbers:
1 cup fat-free yogurt [88713]
1/4 cup Muelsi [15273883]
1/2 cup Ezekiel's Cereal [116795]
1 tspn cinnamon
does anyone have any idea what i'm doing wrong? is there another/better way to go about this?
thanks so much,
Guy

Good question, I have been having the same problem over and over again, have just given up
I've kind of given up on that as well...
Don't give up! Go to the home page and find the "contact us" link. Fill in complete information, with item number and the problem you're having. Don't forget to mention your member name and e-mail address!
The site administrators have been wonderful about adding items to the recipe ingredient data base. This is a fairly new feature and is still growing. It belongs to us and we have some say in what goes into it.

thanks christinavt, however when i amend the recipe for weight, rather than volume:
1 cup fat-free yogurt [88713]
28.5 g Muelsi [15273883]
57 g Cereal [116795]
1 tspn cinnamon
it still doesn't work. is that what you meant to suggest i try?
by the way, the 8-digit item # is for a Muesli that i entered in myself. I suggested Familia Muesli about a month ago and still don't see that it's been added to the list of known foods. anyone have any idea how long that process takes?
thanks again,
Guy

There's the problem. You can't add an item that you've put in yourself as yet. I believe they're working on it. You could try putting it in as dry oats and then a small amount of nuts and dried fruit. That doesn't solve the problem of the Ezikiel's cereal.
You could also enter these in your log and tag them all with the name of the recipe. If you do that, you can add the group tag to future food logs.
It does sound so delicious and healthy too.

whoa!! that would be great! i've been wondering how to "group" items, but i'm not sure i follow you . . . if i tag them all of the items in the yogurt mix with the same tag, say "yummy morning yogurt", I can somehow "link" them to the recipe?
By the way, this yogurt concoction is awesome and really healthy! and the large amount of cinnamon i good for triglycerides . . . try adding some strawberries to it. As Homer Simpson would say: "Mmmmmm full of fiber . . ."
thanks a lot, clairelaine!!

I have a question too... How do you find the ID Tag Number for items?
To find the item ID # - look up the item
Peppers, sweet, red
When you have that up on your screen, look up at the address bar of your browser. The item number is at the end of the address. In this case it's 11821.
Do you see it now?

Ah... got it! Thanks! :D
I have entered all my recipes without tagging with item numbers. Every once in a while I have a hard time getting an item to come up, but I can usually resolve that by entering the weight (grams) instead of the volume (cups). Once I figured that out, I have had no problems and have entered several recipes.
ok, i did as chirstinavt suggested in comment #8 and it actually worked!! now i can simply click on "yummy morning yogurt" and i can add my meal! nice.
ONE PROBLEM, though. somehow when i add the "yummy morning yogurt" from the tag, rather than the individual components, it tacks on an extra 14 calories!! is that the penalty for being lazy? ;-)
the tag is yummymorningyogurt
thanks!! wow, if i didn't have OCD before, i'm definitely acquiring it . . .
thanks a lot folks!
regards,
guy

Your amount on the cinnamon is wrong. Your recipe says 1 tsp, but it's in there as 1 TBS. That would explain the few extra calories.
close, but no cigar, clairelaine! :-) the problem turned out to be that i had tagged low-fat (which i used to eat) instead of the fat-free yogurt (which i now eat)!
now all is right with the world. and this tagging trick makes life so much easier!!
thanks a lot, guys! you rock!
