Ok im currently doing b/t 100-200 pushups a day but I know that you gain mass from resting the muscles. So should I do 200 every other day to gain the muscle mass or is everyday fine? Any advice?
Push ups are more of an endurance/strength excercise. Dont get me wrong, they're an awesome functional excercise with many a benefit etc. etc, but in order to gain muscle its best to do something that shocks your muscles rather than wear them out. Of course, this would mean weightlifting.
Weights + pushups = awesome upper body.
For growth, its best to shock your muscles major, feed them with proper nutrients in sufficient amounts, let them rest completely, then shock them again. Rinse and repeat until buff.
If you're doing over 100 pushups a day, you've probably gained all the size/strength that you're going to from pushups. Instead of doing more, make them harder, put your feet up on something, or wear a backpack filled with books while you do them.
The amount of size/strength you can gain in your pushing muscles will be limited by a lack of size/strength in your pulling muscles, so add some pullups or inverted pushups to your routine.
And if you really want to gain mass, you've got to squat.
