Restaurant dilemma...help please?

Quote  |  Reply

So I'm going to Chili's tonight and I was planning on getting the Guiltless Grilled Chicken Platter.  On the Chili's website it says that it's 370 calories, but on here it says 580!  Which one should I believe? :/

I'd believe CC.  Restaurant food is difficult to calculate exactly, due to portion size variance, but chances are the cooks use more oil in the preparation than Chili's wants you to think.

Sound paranoid?  Maybe.  I prefer to consider myself realistic.  :)

Go by the website. They are more likely to be more up to date.

If you have some kind of amazing self control, order a salad to start, either with no dressing, or just a vinegar straight (so that's about 30 calories for the whole bowl), then get the chicken platter and eat half.  Restaurant portions are always enormous anyway.

I would go with CC's numbers, I bet their numbers in fine print have "if you ask for no sauce and no cheese and no...etc".

They did a calorie test about a year ago I think, and Chili's guiltless grill didn't turn out to be so guiltless... Restaurants suck.

check out this website. They're usually right on the money and here they show variations of the Guiltless Chicken. Good Luck and Enjoy.

Their website is more likley to be up to date and correct.  CC isn't always correct as from my experiance the cal logs are maintained to an extent by the people who use the site.  Also, if you're worried double check their website.  Find out if it's per 100g or per meal.  If it's per 100g then it's likely that the site will be close on the per surving.
