restaurant you hate that everyone loves?

What is a restaurant you hate but everyone seems to love? For me, its the Olive Garden. Why? Because it tastes like "fake italian" food to me and i get sick everytime i eat it .... yet my FMIL is insistant on going there.. grr..

What are some of your dislikes that everyone seems to love?

I hate Olive Garden, too.  And, "fake" is a good word to describe their food, EXCEPT I do really like their Pasta e Fagioli soup.  It's delicious and only 130 calories per serving.  I do miss going to some of the fast food places.  In 'n Out Burger (they have the BEST fries), Arby's and KFC are some of my favorites.  But, until I lose this weight, no treats.  Maybe once every 5-6 weeks I'll get a 6" BLT from Subway; only 360 calories.

Applebee's = NASTY!!!!!!!!  can't stand it lol

Whataburger (I only like the fries)

Laundry's Seafood - once they became a chain it went downhill

ALL FAST FOOD RESTAURANTS... I HAVE ACTUALLY NEVER BEEN TO PRETTY MUCH ALL OF THEM... THE ONLY ONE I HAVE BEEN TO I THINK IS WENDY'S AND SUBWAY... BUT WHEN I WENT TO THESE PLACES I SIMPLY GOT SIDE SALADS... NOTHING SPECIAL - Taco Bell & KFC... and wait hold on... they all look absolutely disgusting! Yuck - I will never in my life set foot in there (and order something... if I friend drags me in I guess I have to accompany them).

I'm really picky..lol  Here's my list

Olive Garden... agree, not authentic Italian. I think people just go for the atmosphere.

Chilis....totally agree! Their food looks and tastes like they cooked up all their garbage to make new recipes.

Starbucks- What is the hype?  Their coffee is terrible. Dunkin Donuts and BK have better tasting coffee.  Again...this is one of those fad places.

Ruby Tuesday's... I've been to quite a few all over the country and it seems to be restaurant policy to hire only snobby, witchy college girls. Food is far below par for what they charge.  Again...we have atmosphere selling.

Golden Corral ...I call this place the Wal Mart of restaurants... Their clientele is pretty much the same. Nothing I hate worse than sitting next to some toothless redneck who is loud, filthy, burping and farting through his meal. Nice.  It's always dirty, filthy and smelly in there too.  I will give the food a B for selection, but a F for nutritional value. Seems like there's always nothing but fried stuff or the veggies are swimming in butter.

I don't have a beef with Applebees.  I've never gotten anything bad from them except slow service.

Outback... always takes 1.5 hours to get your food.. every one I've been at. Great food... I can tear up some Alice Springs Chicken! Always crowded and slow.

Macaroni Grill - Decent food...loudest restaurant I've ever been to.

Checkers, Jack-In-The-Box, Zaxby's, Arby's, anything in the mall all = barf.  Except for that nasty Italian place...I love their pizza... what is that place called in the mall?  Greasy nasty pizza, but its soooo good. ><

TGI Fridays, everything covered in cheese and grease. Perkins, because theres nothing that I like to eat and it just seems like an overpriced version of Waffle House, which I actually am a huge fan of. I also hate most of the things that you guys mentioned, especially applebees, but these are my contributions.

Cracker Barrel. Ugh. They think they can get away with mushy, bland food just because they have a ridiculously overpriced "gift store" attached. Either their food is disgustingly overcooked and mushy or it's slathered with butter. Good home cooking....right.

Maybe I just hate it because it was that or Perkins on my 5-day cross country road trip. All that food tastes the same after 2 days.

I agree. CB used to be really good back in the day before they got all proud.  Now, its just canned, fast food.

I agree with Olive Garden. My family refuses to eat there (especially my dad's side). There are so many good authentic Italian restaurants around where I live, there is just no need for that crap.

I'm also not a fan of Smokey Bones.

PF Changs, I love chinese/Asian food but I think everything here tastes the same and overly done with sauce.

McDonalds, it's the only place my friends ever want to eat (and they go several times a week) and I can't stand even the smell of the place.

Kfc...soo greasy it makes my stomach upset. I don't mind mcdonalds or burger king, never been to wendy's, taco bell is okay if I only get their chicken gordita's, I actually like olive garden but don't go much, Itry to stay awat from chain chinese places, I like authentic chinese and it is sooooo much better!

hate to say it but Ruby Tuesday...i dont get the big deal about it...flavorless to me....also...taco bell...not okay!

SUBWAY the bread is gross, the toppings aren't that great, the meat is scanty.  Why did I used to love this?

 Yes! My god, down south people actually think this is good food! There is nothing remotely nutritious on their menu, not even a salad, it's just iceberg lettuce with some sort of disgusting fatty ranch or 1000 island dressing and white bread and crackers on the side and bacon bits on top... I once asked for oil and vinegar to go with my so called "salad" and after looking at me like I had 50 heads, the waitress brought out some vegetable oil and white vinegar!! Why people?? Why???

 You never smell the food cooking because most of it is frozen and heated up.  Kills me how long they take to prepare something because of that... Just about any restaurant that offers quick take out is frozen, not fresh. Chains especially.

i hate pizza places. gross.
