How will you reward your weightloss?
Hey guys,
I'm trying to lose weight and to keep me motivated I treat myself to something for every 22 pounds lost. For example I started my journey at 222 pounds, and I'm halfway to my first mini-goal of 198 pounds. So when I reach 198 pounds I will be getting a MUCH needed haircut, dye, style and some streaks. When I get to my ultimate goal weight of 125 I'm going to go to England.
I was wondering what you are doing to treat yourself when you get to your minigoal or goal? Haircut? day spa?
I like your thinking. I fell back off the wagon and wrecked my progress so I'm on square 1 again. I'll be on vacation next week with fitness center at my disposal so I'm taking advantage of that to the fullest. So I'm starting to fix my mistakes with a much needed vacation. I'll be super busy so I should be able to drop weight and get my portions back in control. I'm lucky that it's a condo arrangement where we bring in food and just cook there otherwise the rich foods at the resort would probably pack on another 20#!!
I'd like to be down at least 10# so I can get my passport (I lose out of my face first) and feel better about it. And I need to do that soon! I'm going away with my best friend in December and I've got my 'skinny' dress staring at me for motivation. Taking a cruise is my reward....now if I can just get back on the wagon for good.
I rewarded myself with manicures/pedicures, hair cuts, and massages.
I had a bit of a look online and it said that around every 15.4# was a dress size, so perhaps a new wardrobe? Although, seeing as its a continuous loss, you wouldn't want to buy a whole new bunch of clothes.. I bought a pair of pants for work from Target (notoriously generous) earlier this week and I already have to wear a belt for them...Just sick of living in oversized mens shirts and shapeless ill-fitting jeans.
Oh, another of my mini goals-Melbourne shopping spree, when I get down to near goal... (Australia)
I'm anticipating meeting my weight loss goals right around the time I finish paying off some bills - October/November! I can't wait.
For Christmas, a friend had given me a gift card to a local spa, so I will be using it then for when both goals are met and while the gift card is still valid.
I'm on track to finish my goal of 65 pounds by the send of september (lost 50 already) so what I have come up with is to lose 3 more pounds extra and then have the biggest meal of my life!!!!!!!
Then in December I'm gonna treat myself to a trip to Arizona to visit my sister and show her how small her brother got and spend some time with her and the new baby she's having around the same time.
Also a new wardrobe cause none of my clothes fit anymore.
When I get down to my goal, I'm buying a wetsuit. It's something I've wanted ever since I started Scuba diving 13 years ago, but if you're short and roundish, you can't buy them off the rack. And I'm going to finally get a bikini (or 4).
The crazy thing is I've always hated shopping. But I think the major reason for that is that is it's so hard to find things that fit and look good that it's just kind of torturous. I'm looking forward to clothes shopping at my goal weight.
I've had to buy a few pieces since I've lost weight, but I'm trying to keep it to a minimum. Even though I lose weight pretty slowly, so I do get to wear the new things for a reasonable amount of time, I just don't have the money to buy a lot of things that are going to be too big in a few months. Thankfully, my sister lost weight this past year, and now I'm fitting into the clothes that are too big on her, and fortunately she has good taste in clothing.
i've rewarded myself for exercising consistently, but my weight loss is its own reward.
The way I feel is definitely its own reward. I've never felt so healthy and eager to keep boosting my fitness. New clothes are definitely a perk though. =)
Loosing weight has been the biggest reward for all the work I have put in (excersise and eating right). Lately I have felt better then ever about the progress. Best reward yet: All of my clothes fitting perfectly or too big! I don't have a SINGLE pair of pants that I can not fit into w/o them looking great or too big (which most will be given to friends). I am so happy with what I have accomplished!
Also, wearing a bikini! That's been fantasic!
When I break 180 I will be buying myself a new (expensive) purse. I'll have to think of something else I want really bad for when I hit 170! I'm only 1.9 pounds away!
I will reward myself with NEW clothes! And NEW shoes! I am looking forward to enjoying the clothes/shoe shopping experience again. Then, I will do the hair thing, and possibly the nail thing, too! Good luck to all in reaching your goals!
Lets see...
I have gotten my hair dyed and cut twice.
I have gotten my nails done which was really nice.
I have gone shopping for new clothes.
No idea what to do this time maybe more clothes?
England is rubbish!
I live here and all it does is rain and it's smelly!
i plan to treat myself to a cheesecake when i get to my goal. lol
Not sure what to do... I'm getting close to my goal weight. I think I spoil myself too much regularly, so there's not so much to buy/do when I hit a target like that. Plus my wife hasn't really bought into my weight loss, so it's hard to justify a significant outlay of cash for something that I wouldn't just buy for myself anyway.
However, I do need to buy some more clothes... Might be a plan, anyway. Do a wardrobe makeover type thing.

I went sky diving! Felt so free.
I promised my mom when she's at a skydiving weight (under 220lbs), I'll pay and jump with her. Exciting!
I've come up with a little rewards system for myself, these are things I sat down and decided on when I first decided to lose weight and I wrote it all down. When I lost five pounds, I spent $15 at my favorite accessory store. When I lose 10 pounds, I am going to get a pedicure. When I lose 15, I am going to buy myself 2 DVDs. When I lose 20, I am going to go shopping at my favorite scrapbook store. And when I lose 25, I am going to get my belly button pierced. They're all small rewards but I know it will feel nice to be able to treat myself to something, especially since I am normally very stingy with my money because I am paying my own college tuition.
I bought some new clothes for when i get down to 130lbs, i bought about 4 tops and iv got a lovely pair of jeans i must get into! Its great motivation to lose the weight! Im 150lbs at the moment and the weight just isnt coming off even though iv gone from eating around 3000cals a day to just 1800. I will get to my goal though!
