reward yourself for reaching goals?

Quote  |  Reply

If I get to my goal weight by summer I'm going to buy myself one of those overpriced bikinis from Victoria's Secret. They're so cute but I've never felt comfortable wearing one. Do any of you have things you reward yourselves with? Either for long-term or short-term goals.

I reward myself with a cheat day every three weeks. I've also been buying new clothes when I size down. That's really a neccessity though. I do plan on buying something nice for myself when I've reached my goal - should be some time in June. I haven't decided what yet, but it'll probably end up being an expensive toy of some sort - flatscreen maybe...

i have an $80 bikini fm vs and its more showy, esp on bottom, then ive ever sported before.... but i love it!

its my sexiest bikini for sure..

i love the idea of a non food reward.

my experience is if i reward myself w a sweet indulgence or junk food, i start a bad cycle thats hard to pull out of.

thats just me though.

lately i will buy lingerie or just some panties, or pamperin stuff if i feel ive been workin hard & deserve a reward.

it feels so great.

dnt forget little rewards along the way tho, for benchmark goals.

thatll help keep ya motivated

My short-term goal was to get to a healthy weight and, for that, I treated myself to a short stay at a health spa.  My next 'big' goal is to have been a healthy weight for five years... and a repeat trip might be on the cards!

I'm thinking of purchasing a wii fit this summer when i reach my goal, as i am going to start teaching next year and have a feeling i will not be as free to go to the gym as much as i know i like to currently. Anyone have one and if so what do you think about it?

I'll buy myself an awesome, sexy dress this summer and show it off on vacation :)

As for the short term rewards, I make my boyfriend reward me for when I had a good workout day. He "has to" give me a massage ;)

banana_anna: I have wii fit. It's awesome and really fun, but actually not much of a workout. You have to enter every single exercise by pushing several buttons, which means you have to pick up the remote every 2 minutes and that is really annoying if you want a continuous workout. It's nice to goof around on the balance board, and you do burn some calories, but not that much. It does more for your balance than for your fitness. If you want a good workout for the wii, have a look at "My fitness coach". It's like a workout video, but then taylored especially for you. You decide what, how long, how intense etc. It doesn't use the balance board, but it is really satisfying. Just great!!

I'm planning on getting myself a super-cute new outfit to wear to yoga class when I get below 125... only 3 more pounds to go!

yeah if i let myself have a day to eat junk food, the next day its soo much harder to get back to my diet.

I'm rewarding myself with a tattoo in about two weeks ;)

suzannasaurus -- awesome, tattoos are cool. i always kind of wanted one but could never decide on something i'd like for the rest of my life. what are you getting?

I may be rewarding myself with a new pair of ice skates and an Ireland Hockey Jersey, he he. :)
