How are you rewarding yourself for losing weight?

Quote  |  Reply

I'm just looking for some ideas here.

I passed the 12 lb.  mark last week.  My goal was to lose at least 10 lbs.  before I rewarded myself, so I was delighted to see that result! (So much that I actually jumped off the scale in the bathroom and started dancing around the room, LOL!)

I had picked out my prize early on so that afternoon I went online and ordered it and it arrived in the mail yesterday.  What is it? Only the complete collection of one of the most awesomest shows ever, Degrassi High! Laughing (I have all of the Degrassi Junior High seasons on DVD, as well as "Jay and Silent Bob Do Degrassi" from Degrassi: The Next Generation, and I've wanted the Degrassi High set for quite some time now.  I grew up watching the originals and they're still my favorite shows to this day.  I also like TNG, but the DJH and DH are still my favorites by far.  I developed a bit of a crush on the character Wheels and Neil Hope, the actor that played him, during my teenage years, and I still kinda harbor a bit of a crush on him as he has appeared in some of the TNG episodes, albeit older and balder, but that's a different topic for a different board, LOL.)

So what has everyone else done to reward themselves? As much as I love this first reward, the best one will be at the end when I'll get to go shopping for new clothes because none of my other ones fit anymore, and I also can't wait to start getting compliments from others on how good I look! Laughing

I have a reward set up for every 10 pounds I lose. I don't know how much weight I've lost yet since I check only once a month, but once I lose the first 10 pounds I'm going to get myself a new music book for the piano. Then for 20 pounds I get a new stuffed animal (I love stuffed animals). For 30 pounds lost I'm get a new book. 40 pounds I'm gonna get my hair done. 50 pounds lost I'm gonna get a belly button piercing. And then after finally reaching 60 pounds I'm going to buy myself a brand new dress that I will look fantastic in.

So that is my whole reward system.

my first 15 lbs lost i plan on getting my feet done.. 30 lbs i want to get my hair done... 45 im getting a Wii Fit!! not sure what ill do for 60lbs..

I haven't really rewarded myself YET, but when I get to 180 (50lbs lost) I am planning on getting another tattoo. As I am a poor college student, I must find reward enough in just losing the darn weight! :)

I am happy to see you are not rewarding yourself with food. If I lose weight I reward myself with smaller clothing. Sometimes I get a new dress.

at 50 lbs, I bought a polar heart moniter. It is helping to reach my next goal, which is no fat on my belly.

To reward myself and keep myself motivated to reach my goal, I buy smaller clothes as well. I don't have a lot of money for clothes so sometimes I use my old ones that I used to wear when I was thin  to motivate me again

when I got under 140 I went to see Wicked. I was in the nosebleed section but I loved it!

i havent really thought of that before. I think losing weight is a reward in itself.

I pay myself $10 for every pound lost and take away $10 for every pound gained.  I will not spend it until I reach my goal.  I've lost 38 pounds so far and have 32 to go.  I put the money in a special savings account in the bank so it earns a tiny bit of interest.

Are you kidding? Food is like the Devil, LOL! Yes, I am eating every day, several times throughout, but it's relatively healthy food.  Food is what got me in this mess in the first place, so I'm eating just enough to satisfy my stomach and that's it.  I did something really bad this afternoon, though, and I still feel guilty for doing it: I broke down and had three iced chocolate donut holes! (Three is a serving size.)  I let them get the best of me, but I've made up my mind that they're not going to do that anymore.  (Someone else bought them and brought them into the house, BTW.  When I saw them I wanted to scream "GET IT OUT OF HERE!" LOL) So I've just decided that whenever I start thinking about them I'll just have to learn to direct my attention elsewhere, like to my dog, my cat, a book, my DVDs, ANYTHING just to keep me from thinking of them!

Anyway, I like the rewards system.  It gives me something to work for and look forward to.  Not sure what the next one will be yet, but I'm sure I'll find something! Smile

well besides the reward of being able to fit into all my old jeans (and looking good in my miniskirts from the BEGINNING of highschool) i'm gonna buy myself a new pair of SKINNY jeans when I lose ten pounds XP i'm so excited!!

I've decided that once I reach 30 lbs.  I'm getting my hair done.  (Trimmed and permed.)

I still haven't figured out anything for 20 lbs., though.  I figured 30 would be a good time for getting my hair done, as it'll be past the half way mark for me, though.

I've got my 20 pound prize, and it's already picked out and ordered! Laughing

I was on Borders.com today looking for a book, Degrassi Generations.  I didn't find it on there (I'll have to order it from Amazon; I know they have it!) but what came up when I typed in my search just about made me wet my pants because I was so excited: It seems that a little publishing company in Canada called Formac Publishing has decided to start republishing the old Degrassi Book Series' that was based off of the original shows, largely due to the popularity of Degrassi: The Next Generation.  I looked this up on another website and they said it was figured that with the popularity of TNG, fans of TNG might possibly show some interest in the older series', and they figured that they might be able to make a profit off of the old books if they were to be republished again (They were out of print for several years), so they're now being republished.

You can not believe how excited learning about this got me! (As I have said before, I am a DEGRASSI BUFF! Laughing ) I have been wanting these books for years but couldn't get them new because they were out of print.  So my reward for making it to the 20 pound mark will be the book on my all-time favorite Degrassi character, Wheels! Laughing

I figured that by the time it gets here I should be at or have met the 20 pound mark.  I'm already down 13, and it'll actually take the book two to four weeks to even ship because it has to come from Canada.  (I don't have to pay import taxes or stuff like that, though, because I ordered it from Borders.  In fact, I even found a coupon code online for Borders that gave me 20% off of my book!) It's also on backorder, too, but I think that has to do largely with the fact that it's a specialty item and doesn't come from the US.

How I do love the miracle that is online shopping! Laughing It's amazing what you can find when you're not looking for it!

i constantly treat myself...whether it be clothes/shoes shopping, hair do's or pampering. i always have something. i just ordered almost $100 worth of bras so i guess that is my recent treat.

I was just discussing this same topic with a girlfriend yesterday. I love the idea

For my 1st 10lbs--mani, pedi

next 10--full spa treatment (facial, massage, ect...)

next 10--gucci or chanel bag

next 10--trip with my girls and designer shoes

last 10--shopping spree and trip with my husband (hopefully, he'll give me some nice jewelry)
