Rice Cakes!

Quote  |  Reply
I went to the store and I bought alot vegetables, frozen yogurt, sugar free fudge bars and some rice cakes. These rice cakes are'nt so bad they are pretty good, although I can eat like three of them. My husband says they taste like cardboard. Well they work for me atleast. and only 60 calories. : ) yeah

Man I haven't eaten rice cakes in years, but if I remember correctly they have a texture similar to styrofoam. Personally I wouldn't eat them, because my guess is they're probably all carbs and no protein. I try to eat 30% of my cals from protein. And when I need carbs, I eat fruits or veggies.
I eat a similar variety of cardboard - lol.  I eat puffed whole grain cakes.  Then I get the munchees satisfied, or I get something low-cal to spread s/t on or have w/ cheese, plus I get some fiber.

I love 'em!
Dont eat them plain!
Spread on some FF cottage cheese and sweet chilli
Or ff cream cheese with warmed pie apricot and cinnamon - sooo good.
Oh my gosh I have never thought of it that way with the spreads on them I should try it it sounds good thank you  for the good ideas
the popcorn ones are only 35 cal :D i personally like them. and the tomato basil ones are 50, taste like pizza :) I love em!
I eat the apple cinnamon ones but they don't fill you up at all.
I live on rice cakes. The Quaker ones are 35 calories and do have a texture of styrofoam (I love it!). They don't fill me up at all though and I could easily eat 5 in one sitting. It's a problem. If you go to a more sophisticated grocery store they should have some vegan/organic type options with rice cakes with more nutrition (70-100 calories per cake) and these things are hearty and filling!
Remember when you put stuff on them, they're no longer just 60 cals.
The Quaker Chocolate Crunch ones are good!  I like them plain...but they're even better dipped into non-fat vanilla yougurt!
rice cakes are amazing! i put cottage cheese on the plain ones. and they are amazingly cheap!
I just bought Quaker brand multigrain rice cakes (cinnamon toast flavor) they're amazing and just 50 calories.
i get multigrain toasted seasame rice cakes, and put peanut butter and banana slices on top...it's an awesome afternoon snack.  yes, it has about 150 calories, but my lunch salad usually only has 120 at most, so it works out well
I use them fo PB and J!!
I really like rice cakes, normally I sprinkle mine with dried oregano, onion powder, and garlic powder. Almost no extra calories, but lots of flavor.

Also curry powder and black pepper is good.
Mmm curry flavored would be good, they should come out with that. Yum.
I LOVE THEM....the chocolate caramel ones are awesome. But i love Rice chips, they are amazing the katchup ones taste just like ketchup chips ( i know down in the USA there usually are no ketchup chips...but trust me they are sooooo goood). And the dill pickle ones are good, i used to eat chips alll the time so when i found these, they made my cravings go down to nothing!
i think they are so good! but watch out, some of the flavors have trans fats even though they look like they don't.
The most awesome ones are Quaker Multigrain Cinnamon Toast.!  They are delicious...been eating them for about a year.
I have the multigrain cinnamon toast ones as well. I have put cream cheese on them (cannot stomach FF cream cheese, yet to try low fat thuough) but that is about all.

Any other suggestions for a spread for them?
i love rice cakes! i just had a few of the mini-cakes with my lunch.

that's all :)
