How to Get Rid of Cellulite!?

Quote  |  Reply

Ohkay so I didn't know where to put this, but I was wondering how do you get rid of those annoying dimples that I know "most women" get? Will losing weight help? Is there anything else I can do? 'Cause you see I have a slightly large butt, so I seem to get cellulite quite easily in that region and it is not attractive at all! So if anyones got any answers at all no matter how outrageous, I'd like to here them. Smile

i'm gonna disappoint you now.. cellulite doesn't really go away. losing weight definitely will help the appearance of it and make it seem much less, but you'll probably still have quite a bit there. Even really skinny people get cellulite!

there are loads of creams and gels that claim they can help with cellulite, but nothing works - if it did, everyone would be using them!

main point is that weight loss will look great anyway, so just lose weight, and who knows, maybe you'll defy science!

I wish there was a way.. but there isn't

Or at least not one that I know of

Everyone has some form of cellulite.. I did even when my BMI was 16.0- Granted it wasn't very visible, but under the right amount of lighting..............Embarassed

You can try to tone up your glutes, that should help a little bit.

I have to agree....I am pretty toned, but I still have a few little dimples....but they aren't that visible.  There was definite "cellulite" when I was bigger, but now, my body fat % is lower, so it isn't terrible, there is just a dimple or two.  But even Tyra Banks had cellullite when she was a Victoria's Secret
model..... :o)

exersize really helps. swimming especially, and cycling. it wont get rid of it but itll make it look better.

as for making it appear less, iv realised that my celulite is less noticable when i get really tanned in the summer:)

soo....go to the beach!:) swim and sunbathe!

A proper diet and exercise both can improve cellulite. Eat lean and engage in cardio and weight training to burn fat and build muscle. The more fat you lose—and equally as important, the more fat you replace with muscle—the more improved will be the appearance of your cellulite. Fat is pretty shapeless, which helps lead to the dimpled appearance of cellulite. Muscle has a firm form that limits it.

(Don't sunbathe, though: it isn't worth the possibility of cancer or the damage you'd do to your skin and appearance over time. Just eat right and work out to burn fat and build muscle: it really does work.)

Hiya,

Take it from a biologist - cellulite is a made up word. It is just the way fat is laid down in some people. Lose fat, and you will have less cellulite but probably still some even if you turn yourself into a rake.

Don't let anyone tell you it is made up of toxins or any other rubbish cause it isn't

Losing fat is half of the equation: building muscle is the other half, because muscle has a firmer shape to it than fat. Together, those activities can limit the appearance of cellulite.

I wish.......

The person that comes up with a way to get rid of cellulite permanantly with be a freaking zillionaire!!!!!!!!!

The only way to really get rid of it is to get your body fat low enough that you actually lose it.  Not the answer anyone wants to hear, but the only one that really works.  "Cellulite" is just lumpy fat.  How do you get rid of fat?  Lose it....

I don't know if cellulite ever disappears, but I agree with the person who says that tanned skin makes it appear less prominent. I subscribe to Fitness, Runner's World, and Shape magazines, and have read numerous aricles that profess the amazing effects that tanning has on the skin, making it appear more toned and even. I am extremely against tanning beds and tanning in the sun, but there are a lot of sunless tanning options (spray tanning at a salon, or self applied tanners). Using a combo of exercise, proper diet, and fake tanner, you should see results. Good luck!

Humans are born with a finite number of fat cells - period.

Some of us have more that others.   These cells simply plump up and deflate as we gain and loose weight.  The only was to rid yourself of some of these cells is through cosmetic surgery.  I'm NOT suggesting, just giving the facts.  Of course tan looks better than pasty, fat or lean, but the price is paid down the road - weather in wrinkles or some form of skin cancer...

From my experience, when I'm skinny and toned, my cellulite is much less noticeable, so losing fat does help, but it never goes away completely. Using self tanner also makes it less noticeable.

As everyone has already said there really isn't a cure but many ways to make it not so bad.  Exercise and eating right are the main things.   And a sunless tanner can help hide it a bit.

Right now I am doing the Good Bye Cellulite program from Nivea.com.  The diet and exercise part are pretty intense but are helping me tone up a lot.  I am also using the gel they make and it is in no way getting rid of the dimples but it is helping.  They aren't as bad as they were in the beginning.  I took comparison photos and can see a difference.

Sunless tanner is a good way to hide it.  Take it from me, when I loose weight it is not as noticeable but still there.  I sunless tan and it almost looks gone at a glance.  Try it.
